' Wrote:That's what I was afraid of. The Scimitar/Dagger is bigger than what I'd like a Light Fighter to be. Yeah, this is just personal opinion here, but I don't consider the models of LFs like Scimitars, Sea Serpents, Griffins, etc. to be true "Light Fighter" models. They're VHF models with some bits taken off. Modular ships design is cool and all, but you end up with some slightly larger models when you base it off of a full-sized fighter. In my mind, a true LF should be the size of a Liberator or a Wyrm. They've got their own unique, tiny models, and are pretty awesome because of it. I like my LFs to be micro-sized.

Again, this is just how I'd like to see LFs handled. It's alright if you'd rather keep your model in line with the size of the other Junkerish ships. That makes sense.

Texture quality isn't exactly what concerns me here. It's more about texture placement. The ship would look better if its hull panels lined up to each other between each polygon. In some places, the panels appear to just cut off without actually "ending". In others, they're being covered by other parts of the ship without any visible means of connection.

For example, these panels look like they should be a part of something larger, like they've been cut off in the middle of some important chunk of metal. The edges of a texture should probably align with the edges of a surface, right? Or at least continue onto the next surface, without cutting off too early.

I also understand that as a Junker vessel, it makes sense to have a mash-up of different kinds of textures and different kinds of metal. However, I'm not really feeling any overall "theme" with this one. You've got a lot of flat metal along with a fair variety of more detailed panels. They just don't seem to go together all that well. I'm not really familiar with the subject of texturing, so I don't know exactly how to tell you what looks off. It just looks... off.

I'm not so sure right now that it needs much more detail added onto the model itself. I think it was just the texturing that's throwing off my vision of the model. Could we see a picture of this thing untextured? I feel like I'll be able to see more of it that way.

Yes, pretty much reasonable points, I will surely keep them in mind.
About texture job - I got your point about it. I understand that there are such a *glitches*, and I`ll try to avoid them in future, but times to times it is just very hard to get texture to be placed right at needed polygon...I will do my best to avoid this in future, but for now - let it be as it is.

Also I`ve handed this model via Crackpunch to congress, so for now I won`t change a thing in it.

All in all - it is a light fighter, and the smaller vessel we have the less details it should have (I suppose).
Because overcrowded with different stuff model won`t fit FL style very much.

try add some small scratches and some rust to the textures.. and give it a tiny tiny grappling arm on the right side, then it would be the most awesome LF around.

The textures on those little winglet thing near the back just look rather bad.
They don't mesh in with the body of the ship at all, and it was the first thing I saw opening the image up.

Other than that and what Zuke said, it's not a bad job. Certainly better than the current Gitano.

It would really be much better for you to clean up the aforementioned textures now, so someone doesn't have to go back and do it later.

Reasonable.

Looks kinda longish to me...though its good. Maybe if you play little more with the textures...

Lets face it - it is a combat vessel, it won`t need grapples.
And scratches won`t be that noticeable on LF...it is not slave liner.

I like the feeling, looks like a junker ship of some kind.

As a congress member I must say that , positve criticism apart, this looks like something a pilot that prefer agile ships like me will be really happy to fly.

Handling will be around starblazer I hope?

Also, though it ressembles an updated ki, it also seems like it was salvaged from a civilian shuttle and that is actualy quite a nice touch. Your last update with the metal protections on the front enhanced the model in a good junkerish way. I also can see this developing quite easy into the new Bulldog, given the assymetry , its just asking for a torpedo mount.

Overall, well done sir.
