There are not too many sanctions.
There are too many people that do things that need a sanction.
Perhaps there are too many (unnecessary?) reports. Admin moans sometimes give the impression that this is the case.

It is easy: Play by the rules and you are safe.

If you think you are playing against strange people, better cover your ass with a few screenies.

If you do things that might seem borderline, screen things so you have material to cover your behind.

Even better: register on a bounty board and you have to take the relevant pictures anyway in case you get the blue message (which you can't know at the beginning of the fight).

And another things: have DSAce enabled, so you can look up a situation in case you want to.

And: Read the sanction reports. You will gain a lot of knowledge to see how the rules work in reality.:)

Good luck at sanction-evasion- and screenshot-lancing ;D

Personally I call that justice.

Hate reporting people.
But hey, they give me no choice when acting like *******s.

On the other hand, some are being *******s seeking reasons to report.

0.0 is the main rule, imho.

P.S. Swear filter... oh well... xD

There's no real need to read the rules. There's the spirit, and the letter. The spirit is simply don't be a jerk. Just don't reengage, talk before you shoot, and dont OOC. That's all you need to do.

@OP

I call your Godwin and raise you a communist reference!

Sometimes I feel like there's a little KGB agent cloaked around every corner.

That's up to you. How about you don't take any screens and ignore if someone breaks a minor rule? Not worth the hassle.

It's not that bad imo. There are a lot of nice people around.

' Wrote:The admins process the reports they get. If you think there are too many sanctions then really you think there are too many reports. I can agree with that.

Yes, I do believe there are too many reports........that can be a problem.

' Wrote:If people would simply respect the 0.0 rule ("Be excellent to eachother") there'd be a whole lot less sanctions. People who play fair have nothing to fear. People who decide to be arses to other players can expect little to no leniency.

Personally I call that justice.

I also believe this is the solution to that problem.

I still remember my legendary sanction for saying "You are going to be snactioned" to a lovely Russian Gold CAU8 miner while I was using bomber.
Ach. The good old gold rush. Those were the days.

And one break-out of 2 bad mouthed words for a 14 day vacation. Ech.

While I have some. Ok. Many one-sided forum tempbans and bans, I don't see a problem in abiding server rules. Especially thsoe without ANY grey areas.

It is easier to abide them than to break them.
