I still think BS shields should be BS only. Even a destroyer has enough agility to take down a BS if it has one of the BS shields. Equip it with 1 Inferno and a battlerazor and it can kill one easily.

Yeah what you have got to remember is that a BS is large and easy to hit. A destoyer/cruiser can mount the same weapons as it only the weapons will drain its power much quicker. So a destroyer/cruiser can easily take down a BS leaving the BS with no chance if the destroyer/cruiser is using the BS shield.

I peronsally don't mind what you said wolf... but I would be "happier" if
BS shield was for BS only
Crus shield for Crus only
GB shield for GB only
BUT.. I'd like to see better shields available to buy for each class too *better than stock*
So for example.. if my Gunboat can mount up to class 10 shields.. then maybe when i buy it, it only comes with call 9 GB shields.. so i have to go find and buy the class 10 GB shield.
Or atleast something like that.
Ohh and I voted yes, tho it's not exactly what i would of liked.

So what class would the luxury and prison liners go into?
Both of them can mount BS, Cruiser/Destroyer or Gunboat shields even though they come with Adv. Champion shields. (at least I think it's the Adv. it might be just the Champion)
They are pretty good in a scrap too, especially with a BS shield.

They should only be able to mount "transport" shields. Like the ones the trains and transports have when you buy them new.

But I also agree with bs shield on cruiser. Bs shields on gunboats... well kinda too hard. But i will respect when it will apear in the pinned topic with rules.

You mean a Prison liner with more turrets then a britonian Destroyer should have a weaker shield? :blink:
The Luxury liner has the same hull armour as a kusari Destroyer, it's got 11 turrets, so why should it have to use Adv.champion shields that can be dropped by a single fighter? :blink:
The liners are either a heavily armed transports (which people never seem to use them as if they have them) which would require the turret class and the energy generator to be changed.
Or they are light cruisers (similar to a huegenot but less armour) and it just comes with a Cruiser shield when you buy it.
This is why I asked about which the shields they can use.

They would all have to be level 10, or else trains and stuff could equip them. But I understand what your saying. Make the stock shield cost like 3mil and be okay, medium shield that costs 7mil and has good protection, then one that is 9mil and make it as good as the stocks right now. That way there is something other than just armor and weapons that can effect a battle. Also we could have ones that have really good recharge rates and okay protection then ones that have normal recharge and good protection. Maybe even a "permanent" shield that has a very high protection (higher then the shields in 4.79.3) that have extremely small recharge rates or none at all and you would be required to dock and "recharge" your shields on the planet/base.

The Luxury/prison liners have a Champion shield but if you check it is an upgraded one. It has a shield of (I think) 20k. All we would need to do is change the name.
