ooooooooo...i've been looking for a reason to load Ubuntu onto my PS3......excellent

Freelancer on Ubuntu - DeathsOverture - 01-09-2009

I had to copy msvcp60.dll from my native installation to wine's system32

I used the direct connect method and the discovery server doesn't show up. I copied the direct play dll's from my windows xp install to wine's system32 and added overrides, but it didn't work still. I even added the rule to ufw and it still didn't show up... not sure where to go from here.

This definitely is a good start!

Try downloading those files from http://www.dll-files.com/ and installing them.

Meh, the person I mentioned... seems to be disappeared. Gone. Dead? No idea, but I hope you get it solved... All I can say is that I saw with my own eyes that it works on Ubuntu and looked exactly like the one on Windows....SO there must be some way I guess. All I know is, that he was running it trough some program (emulator? Guess so)

Shadow, did you install Ubuntu or did it work with the Live CD version ?

Might try in the future if required, as of now I'm on Windows 7 Beta and it works, no issues so far.
