And you are less likely to be pirated if they are directly paying you for the ore. I assume the plan is to have a lot of combat Arrastras around to stop anyone doing something sneaky.

The official faction has almost never had problems with unofficial IMG factions. In fact, cooperation sometimes was rather close and created nice rp.
So, of course you can use the IMG ID for your shadier approach. It's in the nature of a Guild to give freedom to the individual.
Just one thing that I want to clarify: The official faction does not take any responsibility for your shady/unlawful actions, just because you fly the ID.
If you, as an extreme example, piss off a whole house, the official faction will not take the responsibility for your actions, nor automatically defend you against their wrath. =)
I clarify that right here, because we had an IMG faction before (today's Rotfront) who changed ID in the end (to Hessian) because the rift between their unlawful rp and the "mainstream" lawful approach of the official faction became too wide. It was a little messy and I would like to avoid a repetition of it.

I'm sort of hoping to get our own ID eventually, firstly so that we don't damage IMG's lawful reputation with our unlawful actions, and secondly so that we would be free to commit fully unlawful acts, which at the moment we cannot.

As I stated before, this faction has no ties to any house, and in fact requires that members have no political ties. As such, it is not located in any specific house, especially since the purpose is to serve unlawful customers, from around Sirius, not to serve corporate haulers.

IMG is still a corperation. Independent was the word choicen by many because we are nearly neutral to everyone, and generally act out of housespace.
I say this because I want to warn you about consequences. We do nto want your consequences oorply nor irply.
If the leader of IMG's okay with it, I don't see why it should be an issue. Especially since we even specifically tag our ships with UMG| and not IMG| so that our actions specifically lead back to ourselves, and not the rest of IMG|. That being said, we have no plans of starting a war with any house.

Because we focus more on the unlawful side of things, rather than simply having the occasional junker customer. The liberty navy has a few gallic ships, but that doesn't mean all gallic factions' existence are not justified, does it?

As the shady side of IMG, being UMG, we have no intention of asserting lawful authority over IMG's zone of influence. In fact we have no intention of asserting lawful authority of any sort, anywhere, as we have no intention of being lawful.

And as you stated rather clearly about the unlawfulness, please avoid one thing that would make you and me clash: If you dock at IMG bases when chased by lawfuls.
Please have the courtesy just to blow up like men, instead of losing by docking on an IMG base while being chased by the lawfuls, and then losing on the forums again because they will call me, and I will have to react.

Of course... Firstly, that's highly unlikely, since with the IMG ID we can't really do many things that would get the lawfuls on our tails anyway. Simply mining for the unlawfuls isn't even a crime. That's why I'm hoping, after a few months maybe, to get our own ID, so that we'll actually be allowed to commit crimes... Because an illegal organization without the illegal part is just, well, missing something...
Secondly, if we did manage to get lawfuls on our tails, we wouldn't dock on a base, that counts as death anyway.

I've recently lost all my ships... an unfortunate event I don't wish to be reminded of.
But i'm not tempted to settle down and live planetside. Space has always been my home and I feel most comfortable surrounded by bulkheads.
I'm seeking new employment and i've recently acquired a new ship I've christened the SS Boethia. Just a little hunker but I fully intend on upgrading to the glory I once knew.
I used to own my own transport and mining ship, so once I acquire the funds I could multi-task. But for now doing the grunt work of mining that ore is fine by me.
I look forward to getting an interview with your outfit and I hope for the best!
