Err, GMG? *Smack* - AdamantineFist - 06-15-2008 ' Wrote:Adamantine Fist, they did capture a Rheinland battleship, and promptly sent it into Omicron 85. You can see the wreck north-ish of Bastia. Oh... cool! I never noticed that... then again, I never did much exploring of 85, just enough to find the Captana and Corsica Outer Sanctum. ' Wrote:We were actually moving the ships to the unknown system through means of being unseen before getting public rp in properly. But, we were caught. I rathered the battlestar seeing as Zoners actually have the technology for such deep space exploration, it would make sense. I find the Zoners to be the guilds biggest ally. You have a point, but I say that that's a bit of a big investment when you could instead buy something like 45 Kusari Explorers for that price. Err, GMG? *Smack* - kevin - 06-15-2008 Yes, we were moving the vessel to remain unseen by the public, as Guyton has stated in the above post. I am also the Player who used the Rheinland Cruiser, so if there are any questions i would glady answer them. Err, GMG? *Smack* - AdamantineFist - 06-15-2008 Oh, I'm fine with the cruiser. Seems cool. It's the Battlestar I'm a bit worried about. Err, GMG? *Smack* - Guyton - 06-15-2008 ' Wrote:Oh... cool! A kusari explorer wouldn't have the proper supplies to continue a long journey, or the defenses. In a universe where nearly anything could be out there. Would you explore the unknown with arms of light? Err, GMG? *Smack* - DBoy1612 - 06-15-2008 ' Wrote:Let me add up we do not fly caps as you would think we do. The Rheinland Cruiser that was there was being setup for a roleplay story. Xcalibur however is setup as a exploration vessel rp meant to set out to search for the GMG's prime goal "Colonization of an Ocean world" . We figured it would be an excellent story. The Rheinland Cruiser story doesn't exactly fit up now does it as if I remember correctly through the rumors in Rheinland, the GMG never managed to capture any of Rheinland ships (other then that dead battleship in 85), but instead used their fighters in defense against the Rheinland house. It there was truly a background behind a Cruiser running off to a GMG base with a dead nav system, it would of been mentioned. Because if you manage to use their current story, then anyone could do the same. Next thing ya know you'll have a Liberty Dread run off to Crete and become a Corsair. Sorry mate, ain't gonna run, especially with the GMG and RM repboard. The battlestar? Your story states it with an early prototype of the Zoners, right? Well then why would the Zoners give such a dedicated experiment of Zoner craft to the GMG? Simple, they wouldn't. Allies or not, they wouldn't, 'cause they're miners... It was said in the Battlestar infocard that the battlestar specs itself were given to three other factions, and the GMG weren't one of them. I doubt the Zoners would have it sold to anyone else, even if it were their allies. Oh, and forgetting, why would the GMG need to explore anything outside their own space, especially in a battlestar? If you want to explore, buy a transport or a gunboat, not a battlestar with a cap 8 armor... ' Wrote:Didn't GMG fight Rheinland.....and kind of win. They lost to Rheinland within Sigma 13 because they were ambushed by the overwhelming amount of fighters and the exploding gas clouds, not because they flew capital ships. So no, that doesn't exactly fit. EDIT: Wow there are a lot of posts I missed... *Goes to read* Err, GMG? *Smack* - AdamantineFist - 06-15-2008 ' Wrote:A kusari explorer wouldn't have the proper supplies to continue a long journey, or the defenses. Quote:First ships of the Kusari Explorer type were built in 490 A.S., the period when space exploration was considered very important for the House of Kusari. Bearing a power array and weapon systems similar to a Gunboat, the Explorers were enough reliable to spend long months and even years completely alone with a small crew onboard, mapping remote systems and seeking uncharted jump holes. These years, period of active space exploration is over for Kusari, but it is not for the Gas Miners Guild who are constantly seeking for new mineable areas in the Sirius nebulas and use many Explorer-type vessels to increase research efficiency. Several Explorers also stay on service of the Kusari Naval Forces. See? Says it can go exploring for years! I'd think that these would be the vessel of choice for GMG exploration. Err, GMG? *Smack* - bluntpencil2001 - 06-15-2008 Well, if they captured a battleship, I can see them capturing a cruiser too, I guess. It's not game-breaking. I'd like to see the story when it's ready. Err, GMG? *Smack* - Tenacity - 06-15-2008 yea dude... the kusari explorer was DESIGNED for deep space exploration. When they were ditched by kusari once it established it's borders, the few left over were sold, primarily to the GMG. The kusari explorer should be one of the GMG's primary ships for exploration and defense... not battlestars or any other battleship. The explorer is well defended and well enough armed to deal with nomads and such in unkown space. Load it up with a few missile turrets and a couple razors and you'll be able to fight off any nomads without a problem. Sorry mate, ain't gonna run, especially with the GMG and RM repboard. Rumors doesn't exactly go over all of history does it? Remember that the ship is LOST the GMG never knew it survived therefore who would confirm it was captured? Also your comment of the Zoners in all words are completely wrong. GMG and Zoners share a strong economic bond they would surely give any help to their allies. Battlestar? not given to their allies but sold to different factions at a high price? Your not being realistic here.... GMG just miners? yet they captured vessels and destroyed the largest warmachine of the houses eh? My you are so right what would they be thinking! Edited: Kusari Explorer would survive an outcasts attack when a battleship with escorts couldn't? How would it survive and gather information before it returns home? How would we know the journey would only take months? Err, GMG? *Smack* - bluntpencil2001 - 06-15-2008 Also, please remember that in spite of losing the 80 Years War, the Rheinland Military then completely owned the GMG during the Nomad War. |
