You have a point, but I say that that's a bit of a big investment when you could instead buy something like 45 Kusari Explorers for that price.

Rhienland Cruiser = Exodus

During the 80 Years War this cruiser was captured along side with the battleship Namura. Suffering from navigational hazards when it was damaged during battle. Instead of following the Namura it instead went off in the opposite direction towards the New Berlin jumphole. A ship of its size would make such a thing unstable which it did sending it off to a unknown location. During this time this vessel was lost it actually came across the ocean world the guild was looking for. Lost with a destroyed navigation system the journey began. Story continues through generation after generation as life contnues apart the ship.

Battlestar = Xcalibur

This vessel was one of the early prototypes of the Zoners. With the guilds situation with the outcasts and corsairs it began to feel the strain hardly being able to protect itself due to the still low population after the war. Its last option was to turn to its allies for help. With weaker ships not being able to make a journey from the local systems without being destroyed. The Xcalibur was created for deep space exploration. During its journey it eventually came across the Exodus.

We actually fly fighters more than anything. Those that fly through Sigma-13 would have to agree with that.

If they are allowed to use capships then the Battlestars do not seem all that oorp. But thats if they are allowed to use capships.

The battlestar? Your story states it with an early prototype of the Zoners, right? Well then why would the Zoners give such a dedicated experiment of Zoner craft to the GMG? Simple, they wouldn't. Allies or not, they wouldn't, 'cause they're miners... It was said in the Battlestar infocard that the battlestar specs itself were given to three other factions, and the GMG weren't one of them. I doubt the Zoners would have it sold to anyone else, even if it were their allies. Oh, and forgetting, why would the GMG need to explore anything outside their own space, especially in a battlestar? If you want to explore, buy a transport or a gunboat, not a battlestar with a cap 8 armor...
They lost to Rheinland within Sigma 13 because they were ambushed by the overwhelming amount of fighters and the exploding gas clouds, not because they flew capital ships. So no, that doesn't exactly fit.
