Part of the reason smuggling has been reduced is the lack of fronts. The Junkers are classed as an illegal organisation in Rheinland, and it's not surprising they wouldn't be in Kusari given A. It's xenophobia B. The Hogosha and their influence.

I don't know how you guys can call Kusari dead.. Just because the houses aren't as active as Liberty doesn't mean they are dead. Rheinland is getting close to it.. However Bretonia is getting better, more people are active there (many thanks go to Gateway, QCO, and BPA for that), and Kusari is the 2nd-most active house.. There are pirates up there CONSTANTLY. However the AFA don't count much in my opinion as they are KNF lapdogs, not real pirates.. *Pokes Zelot.*
There are also enormous amounts of traders there, KNF is pretty active, as is GMG (not really Kusari, but they are pretty active in that region)
But Rheinland smuggling: Light Arms, Military Vehicles (though I never got stopped when taking them from Bonn to Kusari..) Cardimine, and anything being taken to Liberty.

Well, I just tried to smuggle 'Liberty tagged military vehicles' through past NB, and go my ass blown up for it.
(I swear, RM shows up at the worst times. Two bloody gunboats.)
So I suppose whatever is within RP reason might need to be 'smuggled' through Rheinland. . .

I quite frequently take Cardimine into Rhienland, and I have been busted for it a couple of times now. Kinda fun.
