Yes. Doing it regularly. Not D&D, but DSA (a german roleplay system) but it works. You need people that you trust though... because rolling dices is a problem. Also cameras make the experience better.

Tried it once upon a time. Works okay, but webcams are a must. Even then, it's so-so. Difficult for DM to assess combat grid, cover applicability, flanking, cast distance, etc when you don't have a board and tokens in front of you. It can also lead to problems with honesty (unless you have a great group) when it comes to dice rolls.

Ive not had the chance to try it, but its free and looks awesome

Then again, this looks like a solid way to fix all of those problems. Actually, this looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Well I know that some SCRA people would play D20 through Skype, and atm some Disco people and I play Gurps with a combo of Skype and Roll20

There are also online dice rollers, too, you guys know (or maybe you don't know?)

And I think I would be interested in an online D&D session ... I haven't played for years. How about using the original three white booklets? Smile

Can someone be so kind as to poke me if an old school Masquerade session gets in the works sometime?

There's some very useful programs for running D&D Sessions over the 'net. Take a poke at the RPTools website (http://www.rptools.net/), if you like. They've got a program that lets the DM set up a virtual map that everyone can access. It could help out with managing the combat side of it.

Just don't ask me how it works, because I haven't the faintest idea.

This was tried before, or something similar... I guess it didn't work out

Still, if anyone wants to make a skype chat for this kind of stuff and he's looking for people... I'm in

Back in .84 some of us used to run a bit but it's incredibly hard to schedule sessions and get everyone together. Few names that comes to mind was Bluntpencil, Del, Sprolf and Bjorn.
Wish I had time to play again but DnD demands a lot.
