Manhattan bar - Fellow Hoodlum - 10-17-2006 "God damn, get down the road to hobnob with the opposition and all you buggers pop in for a saucy one. Bernard, bloody good to finally see ya back in town, borrowed a legit ID, I hope ... Don't need another of those lockdown raids again, costs me enough to keep the LSF guys and gals sweet as it is ... As for the plans, my vote as always, is a resounding yay ... Time to fly a big bugger again. As a nod to the old Bretonian carrier of the same name, and one me uncle served on as a catapult chief, my suggestion for a name would be ... [IND]Eagle, with a bird of prey for each new monster created. Drinks, anyone." ... Short, sweet, and with an Eye like an Egyptian God. Voting done?" Manhattan bar - Nightfall - 10-18-2006 'My idea was greek goddesses, like the previous 'Athena' was, 'Horus' or 'Eye of Horus' do sound good (more reserved in a way by The Order). Though, overruled by 'Eagle' and 'Nadesico' I'd say. If we do all the four monsters, then I'd save the 'Eagle' for the Bretonian one. How about 'Midway'?' 'So far we got:
Manhattan bar - marauder - 10-18-2006 ***OOC*** Actually I was gonna ask if the nadesico one could be saved for britonia since it was a britonian BS. Though I won't mind if we use nadesico for kusari, I've always like the kusari BS. however it's totally up to you. ***IC*** "How about 'Saki' for the kusari flagship?" Markus grinned, "Yeah, I do need a drink." Manhattan bar - Fellow Hoodlum - 10-18-2006 "Yep, as a nod to long departed battleships of the houses, Midway, as an aircraft carrier of some note, falls nicely into that category. Along with other greats such as, Yorktown, Lexington, Wasp and of course the really well known, Enterprise. To this end, the Eagle, as one of the last great British A/Cs fits the Bretonian bill nicely. The Japanese carriers, lost to the Battle of Midway action, were the Akagi, the Kaga, the Soryu and the Hiryu, for the Kusari one. The Germans, I'm afraid, only ever attempted to build one, and she has a sorry history. The Graf Zeppelin was never completed, and was finally used as target practise by the Russians. So the Bismark or the Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Graf Spee and a few more cover the great house of Rheinland ... Nuff said, bloody going on as usual." Manhattan bar - Chucc - 10-18-2006 Renno walks into the IND bar. His new home away from his cockpit. He had joined the powerhouse IND simply because he had a toothache and the benefits are great. He was off to find out what Dentist the IND had access to, and how to get an appointment. Looking for any of the others he knew on sight, which wasn't many. Seeing none, headed to the bar. His blonde scalplock freshly shaved. Warpaint still damp. The burly Seneca man stood out in the crowded bar. His only clothing a strip of leather ingeniously held on and covering his package by nothing but a belt. A number of archaic hand weapons swung from his body slowly as he walked. The green and yellow of his warpaint brilliantly illuminating his blue eyes. In the age of such advanced technology he looked as if out of a museum of history. Unlikely candidate for a pilot of the IND. "Bartender, can I get a bottle of whiskey? Best you have, please," He asked the man behind the bar. His voice cultured and clear, if a slight bit of an accent, impossible to place. He paid and tipped generously, taking his bottle to a table and settling in till the new crew started to show up. Taking he top off the bottle, he drinks stright from it. Manhattan bar - Nightfall - 10-18-2006 'I think we're getting to some kind of a solution and connection with the ship names here... let's get seated at a table as this may prove to be longer than I thought....' Bernard called for the drinks and the android bartender started executing the order as the Seneca man came into Bernard's field of view. The colors were outrageously sticking out in the mainly red and black interior of the bar 'Iroquois!... not the ship! That... man over there, that must really be The Last of the Mohicans!'. 'That must be our newest addition to the fleet!' said Hoodlum. 'Well, let's invite the guy, maybe he has an idea or two!' said Bernard 'for now, I'm mostly for the ACs of the Houses' he continued as they started walking 'maybe Lexington for the Liberty one? Enterprise, I think is the name of one of AW Grand Admiral Korrd's ships...' ... Manhattan bar - marauder - 10-18-2006 "How about the 'saratoga'." Markus asked as he brought a bottle to the table, "Thats an A/C, though I've always though it sounded more like 'sara's toga' to be honest." He chuckled as he sat down. Manhattan bar - romer - 10-18-2006 "Frankenstein!" Edgar piped up from somewhere in the back. "No, wait...that'd be a great name for a song." Manhattan bar - Malaclypse 666 - 10-18-2006 "Pops" Waverly walked into the IND private salon looking like forty miles of bad road... "My Goddess, chaps, I'd forgotten how cramped the cockpit of a fighter can be. Three hours of flying, and I may never get these old joints unkinked! "The John Prine is reasonably ready for escort duty. That's some little "entrance exam" you blokes put together for the Epsilons. I must have missed a bread crumb or two along the trail. I've got one pair of the required codename boomsticks, and a line on the laser cannon, but missed the other codenames. I do have a hold chock full of other goodies for he armoury, though. Hopefully that will suffice for my vetting as one of the Escort ranks. "What's this then? A package addressed to me from Gran Canaria?" Pops queried, as he accepted a largish box from one of the robot barkeeps and began to unwrap it. "Boys, will you smell that? Exquisite! Haven't seen a cheroot with a "nose" like this in a month of Sundays!" Pop visibly relaxed as he flicked his antique Zippo and drew deeply on the cheroot. "Ah, that's the bloody ticket! I'll have to give Mal a big wet kiss next time we cross paths." |
