Evenin'

The glassing continued. Heading out in Warspite, we arrived near Manhattan to find a sight that, quite honestly, we began to die laughing about. This Liberty Assault Carrier, old as hell with that rated armor, was trying to hit our good Lord Commander. Full gatling solaris, and he didn't even take down Locklear's shields. If I ever saw incompetence, it was barely better then the ensigns on Warspite. Caught a few mortars during the engagement, nothing serious, but we slowly bombarded the Munin until he decided to "go to his family" who were "of death."

I swore Harris Syndrome was cured. Guess not.

Then he downed the Lord Commander's shields. Guess his gunnery crews rolled a five or an eight.

Fleet Admiral Glass, out.

Greetings,

During a small patrol Adam Williams and I encountered a Lane Hacker in a Bayonet, who refused any and all attempts to stop and allow us to talk to him about what his purpose was.
He engaged cruise drives and let us on a sector wide pursuit, swooping above and below New York, to Pennsylvania and ultimately the debris filled clouds of Texas.
It was there he made what seemed like a last stand against Williams and I. A costly mistake. He was unable to consistently hit Williams and had his back turned to me.
It was over in seconds.
That's one less Lane Hacker running about for now.

Initiate Reeves, concluding report.

Greetings,

It's hard not to spot degenerates creeping alone the trade lanes, performing their unsavory search for non-combatants to harm and extort. I found one such example, call-sign Dave Mustaine doing so in Colorado near the lanes leading to the Rio Grande.
He was quick to attempt escape for he knew how a fight in his Roc Bomber would end going up against a Prosecutor, but not quick enough to avoid a barrage of Cruise Disruptors. The fight lasted ten minutes or so, and within that span of time he tried to make a get away using the trade lanes, which I could not allow him to do.
It was not long thereafter that he met his end and I concluded my patrol.
A naval pilot tried to pursue me and arrest me and had I not been low on supplies due to a few run-ins with gunboats would have handled his incompetence as well.

Report Begins

Joining the Waran bombers callsign Smoke and Hardcase I, Aiden Vasco was aboard my Cutlass bomber callsign Buzzard. We engaged Gallic forces at Planet Los Angeles in California. During the attack, Smoke and Hardcase were taken out by Gallic fire. I managed to recover there pods and return to Hesperia with them before restocking and entering the fray again. By the time I returned, the attack was nearly over with Liberty forces mopping up the rest. I took a few potshots at the remaining Valor before slipping away back to Hesperia.

Greetings,

On my way back from a patrol I spotted a contact on my scanners, it was just for a second but it showed up as hostile, so I could not just leave the instance unchecked. I remained in proximity to the lane that connects Planet Mojave to the Jump Gate into New York and waited patiently. Surely enough the contact reappeared after a few moments of waiting.
Their call-sign was 'Snake Fist' not the weirdest name I've ever seen, a Lane Hacker in what seemed to handle like a bomber or so I think. They were cruising away but after I stated that we should have a gun-to-gun chit-chat, they cut their cruise engines and said we would dance instead.
This 'dance' went on for about two minutes, two minutes of them trying to break my shields and hit me with a torpedo while killing their engines. Which of course made them a sitting duck, I lined my guns up correctly and terminated the criminal. With nothing else of interest occuring, I returned to Hesperia having already finished my patrol and stayed out longer than I was required to.

Greetings,

First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Tiberius MacShift and I find myself a new initiate into the Hellfire Legion, after having comfortably entered middle-age.

Nevertheless, this start has been thick and fast, just like past days up in Kusari. No more than thirty seconds after I finished equipping, arming and calibrating my brand new Prosecutor, a general order was issued from Hesperia to all available Hellfire flight personnel to head to that base and prepare for an incursion.

I was unfortunately late, and you know what they say about first impressions. Nevertheless, I didn't even have the chance to get into the frying pan before being thrown into the fire. It's a good thing that most of that fire was ours which was, on the whole, laying waste to our enemies.

To be fair, the Liberty Navy made it easy for us, initially sending what seemed to be the very dimmest of pilots to stop our advance. Needless to say, they were brushed aside by Lord Commander Locklear and ourselves. I did have the keys to the Azure bombers thrown in my face though, as it turns out that a Prosecutor is simply not enough in combat situations such as the ones we faced today.

Over the course of more than multiple engagements spread over two systems, those systems being California and New York, we managed together to tear through a significant tonnage of enemy ships. Our foray was not without losses however, but I am confident that we gave Liberty a bloody nose today. We were also present for the destruction of a Valor.

Here is the full casualty list:

Quote:
Mojave engagement:

RNS-Ark.Aztec - Valor
Erromond.Pepper - Interdictor (twice)
The.Scorpion - Interdictor
=DRK=.Black.Smoke - Overlord
LNS-Labrador - Atlantis

West Point engagement:

[USS]Vengeance - Atlantis
Kate.Beckett|LSA - Guardian
Kahnawake - Archer - Forced to dock
5th|Darius.Martin' - Guardian
5th|John.Sader - Guardian
LNS-Golden.Gate - Defiant
LPI-SWAT-M.Johansson[U] - Upholder
LNS-Roosevelt - Overlord - Forced to retreat
LNS-Illustrious - Overlord - Forced to retreat
Justice - Defiant - Forced to retreat

Jump Gate engagement:

Spirit.of.Fire - Scylla - Disabled
LRD-"A_Liberty_Tragedy" - Scylla
Olivia - Hellhound
=LSF=Menwith.Hill - Defiant - Forced to retreat
=LSF=Marble.Mountain - Defiant - Forced to retreat
Ageira~Oppenheimer - Defiant - Forced to retreat

Assets Lost:

[HF]-HFB-Libertine
[HF]-Lancaster

The initial engagement happened around Mojave. After cleaning up the weak garrison as well as the remnant of the recent invading force, we switched our attention to New York. This proved to be an all-together more difficult prospect, simply because of the strength in depth present in that system. It is there where the Libertine encountered difficulties. After dealing what damage we could, we returned to the California system to rendezvous with the Incursus and further backup, which proved invaluable as a Gunboat squadron came hunting. Fortunately, it encountered limited success and was forced to return to base.

For the first time, I saw the Incursus and the Ven'Gyr in action. The latter in particular reminds me of the Kana Keiko in the amount of ripping and tearing that took place during the battle. Unfortunately, the Libertine did not fare so well.

That is all for now.

Initiate MacShift out.

RE: Hellfire Legion Message Dump (AO) - Petitioner - 05-22-2016

Name: Kelly With
Rank: Initiate
Subject: First Impressions

Report Begins

Initiate Kelly With here. Today, I arrived on Monterey. The folks there were plenty nice and accommodating; showed me to my quarters, gave me a brief tour, and set me up with a Guardian fighter. The lads in engineering were even kind enough to fit some HN-series engines onto it rather than the usual XV-series that're more of the default around these parts; I figured that the rest of the ship would be different enough from what I was used to that the specifics of the HN's performance would hold my poor little hands through it all.

Thank christ I did. The controls in the Guardian are totally different from what I know from the Greyhound, even if they're straightforward in their own way; without the familiar backtug of the HNs, this thing'd be a nightmare. After an hour or five getting a feel for the new ship, and manually inputting all the nav data for Bretonian space and the typical Molly haunts that I nearly know by heart anyhow, I was contacted by Pilot First Class Aidan Reeves. The two of us met up in Kansas - where I've never before in my life been - and patrolled the system, mapping it out for myself in the process. In the process of doing a circuit around the system, Reeves said my accent was "cartoonish". He insisted it was a compliment. We made our way back to Vespucci via Humboldt.

All in all, while the patrol was uneventful, today's been one of the more momentous I've lived. I'm looking forward to real service in the Legion.
This is Initiate With, out.

You may be wrong about first impressions, Initiate MacShift. In light of yesterday's outstanding performance you are hereby promoted to Pilot First Class. Keep it up.

As for you Reeves, you are promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. This technically means you're allowed to reprimand Initiate With for her accent, but I promise if I hear anything about that again you'll be scrubbing the Ven'Gyr's latrines for a week.

Lord Commander Samuel Locklear, Hellfire Legion

RE: Hellfire Legion Message Dump (AO) - Petitioner - 05-24-2016

Name: Kelly With
Rank: Initiate
Subject: In Action

Report Begins

Initiate Kelly With here. With the help of the kind lads at Ouray, I set up a Cutlass earlier today; callsigned it Catalyst and started moving towards Hesperia. It's even got one of the old-fashioned supernovas on it, real fancy.

After I was just entering California and crossing by the jump gate to New York, I saw a small Universal Shipping convoy. The Lord Commander had the lieutenant ask them if they needed an escort, and, surprisingly, they responded in the affirmative immediately, though Locklear and Reeves had a bit of a quarrel over whether the convoy lead's "couldn't hurt" really counted as a proper "aye, come and help us" or no.

We met with them in Ontario at the California gate and brought them safe all the way to Waterloo and back. I might have mixed feelings about all that ore going to the baffers, but I'd be lying if I were to say today's events didn't give me a better feeling than I would be used to doing whatever back home. At the end of it all, one of the transport captains insisted on giving me a payment for helping keep him safe, even though the Lord Commander had previously explained that it wasn't necessary and we aren't mercenaries. I'm not quite sure what the protocol is here, so I've kept it, but can return the payment or direct it to some sort of treasury account as ordered.

All in all, it was a good day, if a bit quiet. Nothing glamorous, but that's not what I signed up looking for anyway.
