Dear Liberty Navy,

As a freelance trader I do not have some large corporation to support me in my endeavors. However I do not believe this should entitle me to less then fair actions on the part of the Liberty Navy. I am a simple trader trying to work my way up in the system to provide a living for myself.

During a trade run from Denver Colorado to Omega-49 I chose to make a slight change in my flight plan. As a young trader my Nav maps are incomplete. As such at times I will take round about routes when available to improve my trading and navigational prowess. My intended flight plan was as follows:
Denver Colorado --> Omega-49 by way of
Texas System > Virginia system (not yet explored) > Kansas system (not yet explored) > Magellan system.

While attempting to jump to Texas, I was stopped by a Navy officer -EisenSeele-. The navy officer immediately accused me of selling Super Conductors to Rheiland and requested that I sell my cargo at the Norfolk Shipyard.
After questioning the Naval Officer if he was interested in asking questions about the cargo or was he simply satisfied in making blind assumptions. He subsequently told me "I have been a trader for a long time and know that there is nothing in that direction for Super Conductors but in Rheinland".

I then told the Naval Officer I planned to go to Omega-49 and was not planning to enter Rheiland space at all. The naval officer did not regard my comments in the least, as was evident when we laster asked me where I was selling the cargo.
After this, I requested on open system channel the assistance of any LN vessels in the system. No response was given even though there where in fact vessels within comm range.

Again the navy Vessel demanded that I sell my cargo or be fined/Destroyed. Again I affirmed my intentions to NOT enter Rheinland space. At which point I powered up my engines and began to swing my vessel to the port which would bring me in-line to return to the Colorado system. I had not even brought my ship to bear when I heard "Engaging Blockade runner"..

I was subsequently engaged. I lost all cargo on my ship from this engagement, as well as other costly issues. The embargo stats that ships be restricted from entering the Hudson or Bering systems with goods. There is no policy stating that I can not travel from the New York system to Texas. This Naval Officer acted on pure assumption and refused to listen to any evidence outside his need to interfere with an honest persons living.

This is not the professional set that I would expect from a Naval Officer. I am sending this message in hopes that corrective action be taken. I am requesting a reimbursement of goods. I hope that these unreasonable requests be stopped by the Liberty Navy and the embargo be enforced by the rules set forth, rather then improvised on the spot by assumptions.

Cost of Goods = 359600 c
Cost of repairs/components to ship = 260000 c

Regarding the incident with -EisenSeele-;

Firstly and I suspect, most importantly for you, the Liberty Navy Primary Fleet does not have any direct responsibility over the Secondary Fleet, though we do attempt to keep them in line when we can. As such, we cannot be held accountable for the actions of the Secondary Fleet, neither are we obliged to compensate damages caused by members of that Secondary Fleet.

Secondly, EisenSeele may have been wrong to stop you from entering Texas from New York with his hold, and should have instead offered his services to escort you as far as the borders of Liberty, to prevent your cargo from being lost. For this, I apologise on his behalf.


However, this brings up an interesting point. Though EisenSeele's reasoning for stopping and eventually demolishing your ship was wrong, from the information you disclosed, he would have had to do so anyway at some point. Here is why:

The Zone 21 minefield within New York is restricted to all those without proper authorisation to enter. Those who have this authorisation know that they do. Those who do not will be shot. There will be no exceptions.

Civilians are advised not to enter the systems of Hudson, Bering and New Hampshire without first preparing for a hostile encounter. The Rheinland Military are known to be aggressive and unrelenting in their attacks, even against defenceless ships.

Virginia, as you now know, is restricted space. Trading and mining ships, regardless of their origin, are terminated on sight within this system, along with the other areas listed above.

I will warn you against entering Texas with goods such as the aforementioned superconductors, not least because they are the cause of this misunderstanding. Rheinland reportedly pays a high price for these goods, as their demand is understandably far higher than the demand for superconductors is in Omega 49. I would suggest going from Colorado, to Ontario, through to California in the future. This route is generally safer from piracy at the time of writing.

As a footnote, I will again reiterate that we are under no obligation to pay out compensation for the actions of the Secondary Fleet. The absence of visual evidence strengthens this position, but more importantly, any payouts, however small, would be setting a precendent for others to make claims under similar conditions. We hope you understand.

Dear Commodore Christina Robinson and other respective Liberty Navy Officials involved,

I appreciate your prompt response in this matter. It saddens me to learn that the secondary Navy is so unkempt, however I do understand your situation and respect your position.

I was unaware of the Virginia restriction and will remain among those that have yet to venture into that system. I thank you for your explanation of this matter, and saving me further possible issues with the Liberty Navy.

While this issue was not resolved in a manner that I originally had hoped for. I am pleased to see that the issues of the "little people" are not ignored by Upper Navy Officials. I will consider this matter closed and brought to a positive solution. Thank you for your time.

Today I pleaded for my life in New York. I attempted to file a complaint against an "off duty" officer by the name of Austin.Goodmen who has a propensity for beating women. This man claims to be both a Bretonian citizen and a Liberty officer. How can this be?

I requested an audience with a Liberty official to discuss my complaint against Austin.Goodmen, but AEGIS-Iwo.Jima refused to hear my plea for justice. The [LN]-LNS-Groom.Lake was also present in New York but refused to acknowledge my pleas over a private channel.

I would hope that ALL would receive justice when requested. If anything, an investigation into the matter should proceed before your officers begin acting as judge, jury and executioner against those attempting to file a complaint.

At this moment, I remain in intensive care and my ship is lost. My insurance will cover my ship and most of what I've lost aboard ... but my body is broken.

I ask only that justice be served. I attempted to file a complaint ... and in response was beaten to near death by your officers. I should have at least been permitted to provide my evidence against Austin.Goodmen. Instead I discovered that your officers would rather protect their own than to see justice carried out.

I do hope there is justice to be found in Liberty.

Yes, I believe your vessel was in New York at the time as well and did nothing to stop the senseless attack on my person.

As I understand the politics of Liberty, it is the Liberty Navy that is in charge of Liberty. This is why I bring the appeal to them and not the LPI. According to the neural net, Liberty Navy has the sole authority to enact law within Liberty space. If I am in error, please direct me to the neural net documentation showing otherwise and I will forward my appeal to that authority.
