Guys... the idea is on, we'll be having Frenchies in the mod and there's no stopping it. I'll always prefer progress, based upon weak evidence, rather than stone-hard-justified stagnation.

Guys, I'll say it again.... so what if we don't agree with canon? Is this the limit of our imagination? Does Microsoft really give two hoots about FL, 5 years after it was released? Does this gaming public?
AFAIC the FL storyline is fair game, any way we want to take it. It'd be different if there were books, films, huge fandom and "FreelancerCons", all keeping tabs that all fan-produced material agrees with canon. But there isn't.
The sky's the limit I reckon.

Igiss has stated that Discovery is meant to be an unofficial expansion of Freelancer and to build upon vanilla as much as possible. Thus, we don't have the Daam K'Vosh being earthly-level powers floating around, Gundam crossovers, Executor class Star Dreadnoughts with weak guns patrolling Manhattan or the Wicked Witch of the West establishing a stellar empire with the Carrionites.
@Templar 18; With respect, your statement sounds like handwaving. Ignoring evidence just because you don't like it is completely unacceptable in any form of discourse and is tacitly conceding the point. Furthermore, not having Frenchmen in this mod does not mean stagnation. It is also not a requirement the French be a massive group, as they could very well be a split-off of the Coalition in Sirius for all we know.
Why shouldn't Disco be self consistent? Why shouldn't we aim to have a degree of veresimilitude? I'd hate to wake up and find suspension of disbelief and self consistency, the cornerstones of roleplay, have been thrown out the window.

Heh.. the Coalition do exist in-game, as the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army, the descendants and recruits of saboteurs aboard the Hispania.

And I have a French-descendant Xeno.
And who said anyone wanted a French house to pop up all the sudden with battleships and jumpgates? Hispania arrived years later due to engine damage, maybe this new sleeper was simply slower and arrived a few centuries later?
And I doubt anyone would be discussing what nationality these newcomers would be if it wasn't stated by a higher instance earlier.
But let's quit arguing over nothing and think how to make the story stick.
here were 5 ships that reached Sirius, a few more apparently didn't make it through te blockade.
Now what about those pilots and crew left behind? Maye they had enogh time between the sleeper launch and final Coalition attack to construct some less sophisticated evacuation craft? Seriously, I find it hard to believe, that a whole planetary garrison with a contingent of space fleet units plus the crew of the sleeper launch site would simply commit a slower type of suicide by stayng there and looking the sleepers fly away.

Oh, my god, thank you igiss... i dont think i have another 90 hours to spend trying to make 100,000,000 a day. Anyways, those empty sytems are really annoying, dont you think a rouge corsair group might try and coloinize and split from the corsairs:)The united states did survive? (its liberty i belive, do they still have the original 1776 constitution? It would have probably turned to dust by then). By the way, Freelancer i think is set in the year 3600 A . D. (oh yeah, so i dont have to make a new topic for this, what happens when the timer on your player stats reach 99:99:99? does it go to 100 hours?)
