Nice Bretonian model, Dave.

So, the Zoners...

Quote:Southern Edge Union -

Soon after The Order had been steamrolled, the Nomad fleets began to spread through out the Omicrons. Without remorse, the aliens began slaughtering the few Zoner communities that had settled in the systems, forcing thousands of people to flee back to House space and the Omegas.

Within a short period of time, all Zoner bases within the Omicrons had been destroyed, except for two, one in Omicron 90, and one in Omicron Kappa.

The Zoners that lived in the Omegas and had taken up the many refugees that had come to them decided that they would not leave their homes as well, and instead fight the alien onslaught.

And so they formed the Southern Edge Union, a community of Zoners living in the Omegas and in Bering and Kepler (Ames being the farthest "north" outpost of the SEU). Since they do not have any large warships, they improvise in retro-fitting freighters and fighters into lethal weapons and are beginning to develop their own military vessels.

The many Zoners that had to flee from the Omicrons are now in search of new homes closer to House space and in the northern border systems. The House governments, who do not appreciate the sudden surge of Zoner presence in their territories, have begun commencing small-scale attacks on Zoner stations and convoys in order to scare them farther away from their space.

"Northern" Systems -

While the Zoners in the "south" have decided to unify, the "northern" Zoner communities have not yet suffered from any Nomad attacks. They live on their own, not caring much about House relations, or even their nearest Zoner neighbors.

Is this any good?

I like that, very much so.

The seperation of the North and South sounds particularly good, and it wouldn't be hard to split the Zoner NPC factions and IDs into two.

How about Indie World Zoners? Bering, Kepler, Yukon etc?

Freelancer 24/7 RP Alternative Universe - Toaster - 05-02-2011

Well, as I wrote, Kepler and Bering belong to the SEU. Kepler is important because of Ames Research Station helping the SEU with the development of its own warships.
I guess Bering's Freeport 2 could go to the Northern Systems though, and therefor be fully independent.

>> "Northern Systems" is not a union like the SEU, it's just all the other Zoners that dont belong to the Southern Union. So, basically all the independent Zoners.

[color=#66CCCC]Approved and ready to be inserted in the future. The idea to split the Zoners in two blocks is nice from my point of view.

First try and already successful? Hell yeah (smoke)

Edit: It's more like one block, and the rest being lots of small independent blocks.

"The Phantoms are now an intelligence faction selling vital information to the highest bidder on the black market."

I can expand on this. Infact, I got a really good idea for a new system and faction lore. Considering this is an alternate universe, the founding of the Phantoms can be completely different.

Yeah... Skype me.

It certainly is for the Coalition. I've practically finished the write-up for the Coalition background history, which can be found here.

It is quite clever how the General Secretary reignited the will of the Orion Coalition to resume the fight, revenge is quite the motivator because an attack on a small part of 'The People' would be taken as an attack upon all due to the Communist Doctrine and thus enraged and eager to spill the blood of those they believed murdered their Comrades.

Exactly. I also liked the idea of making JiangXi (Murmansk is ex-Omega-52) a nuclear wasteland as it is in main Discovery, and decided the General Secretary would want something grand. An attack on a military patrol wouldn't have had the same effect in my opinion. There's a difference between military units who can fight back and civilians who are helpless.

Anyway, thanks for reading it. I've had to steam through writing it today before school resumes and I lose more time to revision periods.
