"Nor have I," he answered softly, both still lying out in the rain, still naked and on the grass, "I just hope that you know what you're getting yourself into. I mean, in as much as I'd like to stay here forever, we do have work to do and a wedding to plan."

His hand roamed the skin of her body, "I count myself lucky." For a time, they just laid still. Eventually, he looked up. The rain wasn't going to go away anytime soon so it seemed. He looked back at her, "Well, we can lay here and catch colds or we can head in, get warm and start planning a few things."

She smiled as she thought about planning a wedding. It wasn't something she had ever thought she would get the chance to do. She had resigned herself to the fact that when she became a Rogue, she would more likely end up dead then married. "I know what I want, and what I am getting myself into...." She playfully poked her tongue at him. "And anyway, its something I'm looking forward to. The work.... and I think I can manage helping plan a wedding. Especially if it means I get to marry you."

She realied he was right. If they stayed out much longer, the chances of them becoming sick were high. "Lets head in."

They again dried off and considering it would be a rainy, damp, day, Doc just covered himself with a bathrobe while handing her one. He had no regrets over what had taken place and for once, he was a happy man. He kept a pleasant smile on his face for much of the day as he poured a couple of fresh cups of hot coffee and handed her one. He then stoked the fire, grabbed a larger datapad and cuddled next to her on the couch.
"These are the old plans for when I had Tombstone built back on Gran Canaria," he explained as he held it to where she could see them. "As you can see, it is quite large with plenty of extra rooms."
He pointed out before and after areas as he spoke to what they were. "The kitchen has a full service bar and my den I referred to as my West Room as it has a lot of pictures from long ago and antiques. I keep a baby grand piano in it as well."
After she had a chance to look at them, he gave a photo tour of the upstairs, "Master bedroom, guest rooms and I had rooms for the kids as well." He snickered, "I had build it with the intent of more but it didn't happen."

Outside was a stable and attached deck with a large fenced in area for his horses. Gardens adorned the outside as well. It was what he wanted to build again. "With a good labor force here, it won't take long. I have the Foster plans as well."
He placed the datapad on her lap and placed his free arm around her as he took a sip of his coffee, "Feel free to add your touches to it." He thought a moment, "Any thoughts to the wedding or have you even had a chance to wrap your pretty little head around it?"

She took the coffee and made herself comfortable cuddling up next to him on the couch. Sipping it, she watched the images on the data pad, the plans for the house he had were quite impressive. It was large, a bigger home then she had ever dreamed of living in, but she could imagine it being cozy, homely even, rather then the sterile feel a lot of the newer houses now had.

"I had build it with the intent of more but it didn't happen."

She smiled. Despite not knowing where he stood with children at the moment, she gathered he wasn't entirely against the idea. She did want some of her own but was going to wait for the right time to talk to him about that. For the moment, enjoying the fact they would be getting married was enough.

She shakes her head as he places it on her lap. "I think I would be of more use with the finer touches then anything else." She loved the smaller details, dressing rooms up, it was something she spent a lot of time doing back on Padua while she was trying to make the station feel more like home.

Thinking about the wedding she nodded slowly "It's still sinking in...." she looked genuinely happy. "But.... I think I would like something small.. I don't have many family or friends to invite" She moved slightly making herself more comfortable, closing her eyes as she spoke. "Something outdoors would be nice.... What are your thoughts?" She hesitated a moment before adding "You mentioned you are a father... If it's possible.... Am I able to meet your children?" She shook her head "It sounds cheesy... but I figure if we are to be married, it's only fair they know first... And they are ok with it."

RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Doc Holliday - 03-11-2015

"Small is best," he agreed. "My only family are my kids, a friend or two and medical staff scattered about Sirius and yes, outdoors would be beautiful."
He then put on a smirk of being in trouble, "If I don't let you meet my children, my eldest daughter, Emiko, in particular, we will both be in trouble so yes, you can meet them."

He then described each. Emiko was a very mature twelve year old often mistaken for a girl of about eighteen. She had Daddy wrapped around her finger and while having his interest at heart, she was protective of him.
The twins, Mika and Henry, were but nine and very much playful children.
"You'll have your hands full when they are around," he joked.

He liked the idea of finer touches. "I can get the house built up in no time flat but I think a woman's touch will make that house a home," pulling her tight to him as he said it. He the sighed.
"Listen, I should make a quick trip to Canaria before we head out. It shouldn't take but a day or two tops. You can go with me but considering conditions there, you would have to stay in my yacht, which is quite nice, or stay here. I shouldn't be long. I'm just going to get a few things we will need."
He knew she wouldn't want to stay alone here but the trip was needed. He just sat with her, reviewing info.

"I don't mind having my hands full.... Despite what many believe.... I actually enjoy spending time with children." She was excited to meet them but worried at the same time. "I just hope they do like me...."

She believed him when he said he could get the house up in no time, after all what his team had already achieved on Foster was impressive. She liked the idea of being able to give the place her touch. After all, any house could be made a home and if she was able to help she wouldn't feel like she was intruding in someone else's space as she often did.

Biting her lip as he mentioned going away for a few days she nodded slowly. She didn't want to stay here on her own, but she knew if he had a problem with it, he would let her know. Not reali "I think..... I will stay here." Speaking quietly after some though she added "Some more sleep while I am able before we go back might not be a silly idea anyway"

A slight advance in time of a few days

About three days later, Doc returned, the shuttle landing where it had been before. When the door opened, it was evident by the somber look on his face that something had gone very wrong. With him were his children, all three very Kusari looking and two of the three being identical.
"Daddy," asked the eldest, "may I take the twins over to see George and Gracy?"
"Of course," he answered, "I need to talk with Ashlea." With that, the children headed for the stable, all three almost forcing a smile with a friendly hand wave as they walked by her.

Doc hugged Ashlea and just held on for a few minutes, "I'm so sorry, Dahlin'. I had no way of knowing what I was going to run into." He held her tighter and sighed. Finally, he held her back a bit, his hands on her sides with the somber look in his face. "Their mother passed away a few days ago in child birth and they were brought to Tombstone."
Doc turned, visibly upset and sighed, "We stayed friends after we split. I warned her not to try bearing children again after a sever hemorrhage after the twins were born but she tried it with her new husband. The child lived but she didn't." He continued looking off as he tried keeping himself composed, "Emiko was so broken up and is taking it the hardest. The twins? I'm not sure they totally understand."
He finally turned back to her, choking a bit, "Dahlin' I'm so sorry for still having old feelings considering I'm about to make a life with you but if you saw that young lady's face......."

He held her tight again. "Just don't ever leave me."
After several minutes, he continued, "That wasn't the extra time though. I had to perform some emergency surgery for an old friend. Amazing how barbaric these Order agents have become."

Something was wrong. She knew this the moment he stepped off the ship. Frowning slightly, she began to walk across to him, stopping short when she saw the children. Despite the concern, she managed a smile and waved at them. As they met, what he said was confirmation enough something was wrong. Shaking her head at his apology and hugging him back, she bit her lip, worry on her face "I.... Don't be sorry. You don't need to be. Are you ok?"

As he explained what had happened she shook her head, resting her hands on his shoulders. "I.... I'm so sorry......" was all she managed for some time before seeing how upset he was and his apology for still having feelings. She shook her head again "John..... Stop..... It's ok. You two were married. Not every marriage ends in a mess. It is ok to still have those feelings there." She moved one hand, running her thumb down his cheek. "You don't need to be sorry for that...."

"Just don't ever leave me."

Hugging him, she managed another smile. "I'm not going anywhere." She hated to see him like this, and she didn't know what to do, what to say, to make the situation any better. Instead she fell silent, moving her hand to play with his hair at the nape of his neck. "If I can do anything....." She began, before falling silent again and listening to him change the topic to the operation and the Order agents. Nodding in agreeance, they had become rather barbaric. While she herself hadn't had much to do with them in her time, many stories had been told.

"Listen, I need some time to clear my head a bit," he said kindly, his hands at her sides, "Emiko will be fine with the twins but she is looking forward to meeting you and speaking with you as I told her much about you." He paused a moment, "She's taking this very hard whereas the twins don't seem to understand." He kissed her and managed a forced smile, "I'll be at the house." With that, he put his hands behind his back and walking with Ashlea only watching no doubt.

As he walked, he shook his head. He didn't want her to see him sob so he never looked back. As he walked, he began to sob. Engaged to Ashlea he was but old feelings for someone he still cared about surfaced. He had given so much to save his marriage but it wasn't enough. "Why," he asked himself quietly, "why didn't you listen?"
He rounded a bend heading towards the house. His hands went into the pockets of his coat where his right hand fondled a small box. Still, he wept not for his own thoughts but for how his children must feel. Emiko emulated her mother and was almost a mirror image. She wanted to be like her but was very much a Daddy's girl.
The twins also had there mother's looks. They were close to each other and would often be found playing and chasing each other. Doc knew that he had his hands full and the construction of a new home took on much greater urgency. When he reached the house, he poured a glass of Gallic Wine and gave a toast to his late ex-wife. With his three kids, he definitely now had the best of Midori's offerings.

In the stable, Emiko was petting Gracy as the twins played in the loft. Emiko was talking to the horse she was petting, her face somber. "I feel lonely, Gracy. I miss Mom and I'm not sure Daddy will relate."

It wasn't hard to see he was upset. She watched as he walked out of sight. with a sigh and the shake of her head, she walks to the waters edge to sit for a while and clear her own mind.

She knew he still had feelings for her. The fact he kept the pictures hidden away was a good indication of this. The marriage was over, but he held onto what he could of her. Running this through her mind, deciding enough was enough, she stood and walked away. She had done enough thinking for the day. Regardless of what had happened or how he felt, if he needed her, she would be there for him.

Mindlessly walking took her to the stable. Realizing this, she quietly stepping inside, not wanting to disturb anything. Seeing Emiko on her own and looking somber, she took a few steps closer. "Hey..." Speaking softly, she hoped she didn't startle her or the horse. "How are you holding up?" She was genuinely concerned, not only interested in Docs well being, but that of his children's too.
