The grey area arises when one group turns up to the siege to specifically kill the people defending the POB. If a third party shows up to a siege and tries to kill everything there, I don't think it's a big problem (although even then, still a bit suspect as they're not part of the siege, so not counting out Nomads here). Wrong. We wouldn't kill any defenders if they were zoners. It just so happened to be (I assume) Auxesia and possibly Core. We don't care who defended that pob, and we killed one of our main enemies besides the Nomads (who we also killed there). Battles weren't mainly around the pob, some were even in Delta. What's wrong? Again. I see no problem there, looking from different perspectives. RE: Dumb stuff harms the game - Omicron - 09-07-2020 The Order had: 1. Killed Nomads - The Order and Nomads are natural enemies. 2. Killed Auxesia - Faction designated as hostile, with mutual feelings. 3. Killed at least one AI cruiser in self-defense. We are not going to stand and let it kill us. 4. Killed Ageira ID freighter after attempt to pirate it off Nomad guns - which we are allowed to demand and destroy any ship carrying such. 5. The Order under my command were instructed to observe and linger around waiting for Nomads to show up. Your solution is either deal with interlopers like Order in areas that Order frequents a lot or make more AI ships which are ambivalent in regards to The Order. Exclusively killing defenders, including some that are the same affiliation of the base at that is under siege, is suspect though. If it was only Auxesia (and Core I guess) that were there to defend the POB it'd be slightly less grey. If Zoners were there defending the POB, the Corsairs would surely have to kill them after all their non-Zoner teammates had been picked off; so it's still a case of assisting in terminating the bases' defences during the siege potentially. At the end of the day this just seems like something that was unaccounted for in the rules, as usually with these kinds of things all parties involved will make clear if they are assisting or defending the POB via the POB thread(s). RE: Dumb stuff harms the game - Kauket - 09-07-2020 stop with the pathetic fabrication because the ai were absolutely shot and killed. Shocker, it's almost like you're partaking by making the attackers win via killing the all defenders. RE: Dumb stuff harms the game - Omicron - 09-07-2020 The Order, at least on my watch, ignored any and all AI players undocking/flying around Kappa unless they were directly threatening The Order or siding with the likes of Nomads. If any Order| attacked AI defender without provocation rather than stand off , then apologizes are due. However to my current knowledge of the events that unfolded, The Order behaviour was without fault. RE: Dumb stuff harms the game - Groshyr - 09-07-2020 Imagine making characters of below 29th level to undock, take /pos, dock, log another character and to move platforms. What a lame! RE: Dumb stuff harms the game - Wesker - 09-07-2020 (09-07-2020, 11:43 AM)Lythrilux Wrote: It does seem like a grey though. Removing base defenders, even though you aren't explicitly sieging the base, is still technically attacking the base in some capacity. At the least, it's undermining its defences, which are meant to be warding off the siegers. No it is not. There is no rule outlining this because there is not and cannot be any rule entailing who the defenders are. You don’t register factions to “defend” a base, you just show up and shoot the factions attacking the base. During the 300 spartan defense of falster station in omega-3 aland drama - core (who was no on the siege list) showed up to shoot RHA and IMG (self proclaimed defenders) alongside BAF (attackers). Even a certain AI player came to its defense. RE: Dumb stuff harms the game - Groshyr - 09-07-2020
