RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. So come here and vote on this poll. - Omicron - 08-09-2013 Some mistakes or lack of grammar at times does not matter if content is good. There is no such answer in poll therefore "other" RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. So come here and vote on this poll. - Highland Laddie - 08-09-2013 I voted Other because none of the 3 should seriously be trying to do police work (scan vessels for cargo) in BS/Carriers. GB would have been better. RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. So come here and vote on this poll. - sindroms - 08-09-2013 Irrelevant. RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. So come here and vote on this poll. - Kazinsal - 08-09-2013 I will admit, I would be significantly less inclined to have number three join a faction of mine than one or two. Professional appearance is important when maintaining a standard of RP. Creativity is great. It's what I want to see as a faction leader looking for more members. But if it's presented like a twelve-year-old is typing in it one finger at a time on facebook chat, it appears with significantly less serious intent. I don't mean in a "video games are srs bsns" way, but rather in an "I really do want to roleplay" way. RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. Not possible to say whether one is better than the other from an RP perspective because RP is linear. You'd need the entirety of the encounter to be able to judge that. As far as best spelling/grammar goes, well, I guess no. 1 gets that because he's specifying a character that is speaking, rather than it being just the ship. The assumption of most native English speakers would, I assume, be that no. 3 is the worst because of the use of textspeak and lack of punctuation. I'd say that those with good english skills would say the same. agree. 1 seems the best as you sets good groundwork for RP. you know who you are talking to, rather than just using the ships name. and what others have sai RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. Bingo. I made this thread to make sure I am right on two accounts. There will be a followup thread later on, explaining them. I just need to figure out how to correctly formulate the description of these two problems. RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. So come here and vote on this poll. - Luke. - 08-09-2013 I enjoy reading better punctuation more than a garbled mess that can make the sentence look bad structure-wise but...at the end of the day, they're trying. RE: I have a theory I'd like to test. So come here and vote on this poll. - Haste - 08-09-2013 I prefer adding a name while flying a ship not named after a person. However, one of the issues is that people assume that because you wrote it out, they now know your name. As in, if [LN]-LNS-Anchorage goes "Baker: Yadda yadda.", people then go "Hey Baker, how are you doing?". That's a bit awkward. It's not like you're saying the word "Baker" out loud, or something. Just throwing that out there. Oh, and yeah. Number one gets my vote. Number two is more than acceptable. Number three is the one I expect to start spamming torpedoes at my Arrow on sight after uttering the word "engaging". Call it prejudice. |
