What will you tell your new lawful friends? We're actually dropping Outcasts to Neutral. We are still friendly to the Hackers, but it's less overt. The only Outcast ships that are being kept are the ones that already exist in-RP; we're not getting new ones, we're just not dismantling the ones we already have. Quote:Pewing Ageira is ok because few use the id? Really....That part was a joke. We're not planning to go after them directly. The Hacker/Ageira/VR thing is supposed to be a bit more subtle. I understand that Freelancer's not very good for this. Quote:Also, for completions sake, the 49 story, while everyone loves to ignore what happened... there were no saints and i hope the TAZ didn't prefer losing Canaria to the SCRA instead of having the Sairs kicking the SCRA out...oh well, perception... And if the TAZ decide to evict the Coalition, we'll help out. Our work with the TAZ is more valuable to us than a logically short-lived ceasefire with the Coalition. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Rodnas - 08-13-2013 Meh, i might have come off a bit impolite if i reread my ramblings, sorry for that - and thanks for your answers! If it does not exist you cannot have it written in the Rules (your ID). (08-13-2013, 08:50 PM)Kazinsal Wrote: There are a number of NO- tagged ships. The only reason I haven't posted the Natio Octavarium post is because we're waiting on confirmation from Liberty that they recognize us (oh, yes, we've been RPing the heck out of that, if you haven't noticed). If our lack of an official post for Natio Octavarium makes you believe it's not a thing, then I'll be happy to clean up the draft and throw it on the forums.Care to explain how this would work with in-game terms? I kinda doubt it. None is required to read the comm channel frequently in order to follow your RP, good idea is if you want to be official to post the proper links here so people can read it if they want. VR ship declares certain space as Natio Octavarium space, the VR ID says: Code: - Can attack any ship that is hostile to them within the guidelines of the rules. There are already tons of active official factions that does not have this right since they are tied with some lore or background story. Kansas and Humboldt. We're doing this slightly out of the originally-intended order, which is why a few things aren't in this post. If you could drop the attitude, it'd be appreciated. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Govedo13 - 08-13-2013 Code: - Can attack any ship that is hostile to them within the guidelines of the rules.Code: - Can attack any ship that is hostile to them within the guidelines of the rules.Check Hogosha and Privateer and GJ IDs for reference. Also the said 2 systems are populated by other factions, your in-RP claims cannot be taken seriously considering that according to the lore the said other factions have bases and patrols there. You have some vague concept in your heads how you want to roll but you should try to make it more concrete with less generic stuff and with concrete bonuses and downsides like all other factions and IDs. I does not think that you can be actually that flexible in your Roleplay, the level of flexibility that you request would mean that someone would need to adjust your rephacks and your ID each several months, while those are adjusted once per 1 or 2 years- you should mind that. In general such flexibility would be welcomed for all factions but the old limited freelancer engine does not allow such dynamic changes. Note that if you want to be official your faction RP would impact the RP of the other factions, this impact cannot be 100% of yours or their control, you should consult it with the lore writers as well. Exaple for this is when the lore writers said that Mollys should hug the Bretons in 4.86 none wanted it and it didn't happened, also Mollys waned to hug the Gallics but it didn't happened too things went in the middle-way. I am not able to determinate yet what you want to do actually- cover with nice RP story some PvP at will thing or you really try to do something new and fresh without checking the limits of the system. I really hope for the second that's why I bother to type this stuff. Still in my opinion is that the best way to create your own mini house is to re-activate some dead faction and change its RP route instead of creating brand new thing that is hard to fit in. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Druen78 - 08-14-2013 VR member here. For your info, Govedo, Kansas is not populated by anyone, and that would be our only full system claim. Interest on Humboldt is there only because it would be an access to our home. Answering to feedback is one thing, and Kaz and Thex are doing it excellently, but you are acting like convincing you is paramount to the existence of the faction. Last time I checked, this was not true. Should you spend some time taking a look at our RP around Disco, you'd quickly find that we're not the kind of players that want an excuse for pewpew - as if there aren't enough already. And no, re-activating another faction is not a viable option, because guess what? We're not that other faction. Do you really want to see where the VR will go? Then stop monopolizing the feedback and have a little faith in the admins: they're the ones that have to decide if we're trying to bend the rules or not. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - SummerMcLovin - 08-15-2013 (Speaking as a player here) I've been keeping an eye on VR/NO stuff since it seems pretty interesting, and perhaps because I didn't see the old VR stuff which I've heard from a few was not exactly inspiring (maybe just Switchback and the SRPs issue). I've not actually ran into you guys in-game, but the forum RP has been pretty cool. The OP looks good, although I noticed a couple of points concerning Friendly diplomacy. While you do have the common enemy of Gallia (among others), I'd have thought the RP with Bretonia would leave the BAF at neutral. Unless there has been extensive in-game interaction and agreements that I've not heard of, the Admiralty still hasn't made a post to make some sort of deal. I would say the same for the Exiles, although any RP with them will be difficult concerning their lack of a large presence. The ZoI map here looks good too. I won't say too much about the ID in case you take it as the official word, but I believe all the custom IDs were given after quite some time - you can likely get by pretty well with the Pirate ID on VR- ships and Freelancer (and Miner) on NO ships and maybe some SRPs. EDIT: "Natio Octavarium space" for rules purposes could very easily just be written as "Kansas and Humboldt" since we don't go for "this quarter of Magellan" too. Good luck, and I'll keep spying on your RP! RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Savas - 08-15-2013 Thanks Summer, glad to hear you've been shadowing us and thank you for the pointers. Honestly, while I really want the full ID (primarily for pirate trains and altered technerfs), my primary concern could be resolved by copying Pirate ID and changing the text and certain rephacks, that way we're not getting shot by LN and BAF people that have no in-RP reason to be shooting at us - think about the Privateers in the old days having Pirate ID, that'd be a hell of a lot harder now. Plus, you know, bounty hunters. I expect Rheinland to want us dead, and to pay for it, but Bretonia and (soon) Liberty shouldn't be paying for our death - but we're Pirate IDed, so they are. Honestly, were it not for the rephacks, we'd probably just re-SRP our cruisers and the Metropolis for now. But the hacks are proving to be somewhat problematic. |
