Just remove them from the ID. A destroyer is plenty for your average Zoner.

Change the zoner Juggy from a battleship to a fancy liner. Maybe either shrink it or give it better than transport shields.

The ships themselves dont need changing,
just how and who uses them.
your average run of the mill zoner only needs a dessie. As Kaz said, if a zoner needs BSes, then either
1. if their an official group, and the devs think there is enough reason to warrant it, give them their own ID
or
2. SRP them.
And dont use the catch-all "nomads are dangerous" line. because any faction could use that and ask for BSes.

I agree with that. The zoner BS is already restricted in that sense.
If the majority is so fussed about an indie zoner having a BS, the restriction can go further as the Orders -- let them stay in Omicrons far away.
Why don't you ask for restriction house navy BS to the indies?! I have seen too many indies flying various house navy BS -- some even use liberty carrier to trade cargos.

I have an indie one that I inherited from someone, and I have racked my brain trying to find ways to RP properly with it. Tried to just fly it as a big mobile home, but all anyone sees is a battleship (understandable) and you just wind up trying to convince them to leave you alone even when you have them heavily outgunned. So I wind up just kinda derping around in space with it. The zoner ID is limited in a way that it doesn't make that much sense. Probably wouldn't be that sad to lose it.

You wanted to say "by few nomad fighters" right? In vanilla battleships of any sorts were playing a scenic role and were damping itself to a few torps, as well as bases.

Removing juggies from the general populace outright would cause a crapstorm of angry little zoners, and leave a little bit of a hole where people have RP'd out having colony ships. Leaving them in, but as Shukensha sized colony liners would allow for people to not get a rather large investment just poof, and allow people to continue playing out having enough colony ships to colonize the rest of the universe.
