No.

The angels seem to be less concerned about helping people, than sitting next to Erie and Manhattan, allowing people to gawk at whatever FX the admins have placed on their ship.

Not too long ago we had a Zoner whale docking in NY, and we tried to ask an Angel if he could help deal with this, since there was a raid coming and we had better things to do at that point.
His reply was something along the lines of "Do I look like an admin? Report him if he is doing it."

Then Angels should be removed if server police is going to be implemented.

There's a difference to the angels we have now and angels with power.
Ergo, in your example Spazzy the angel couldn't do anything, being powerless.

But alas they have forum mods concentrate on forum modding and admin on server administration.
Until then I will just state the answers given to previous threads about this issue.

People who are not admin will not be gaining access to said commands.

Hence all you are asking for is more admin?

It gives admins more time to work on mod, events, sanctions and other stuff while police would kick/ban the obvious cheaters. Not to mention the fact that admins cannot be online 24/7.

This but for Disco can solve it. 10 people with unique MACs vote ban and the hacker is gone in less then 2 min.
If one codes it the problem is gone. Hackers cannot be fought with ancient methods by putting people in the game to watch for them.

this could be seriously abused though.
For example, there's one rogue. A completely legit player. But the LNS don't like him because they can't shoot him down, so what do they do? They use their numbers to votekick him.

RE: Server Moderators/Police - roadrunner - 08-25-2013

Actually the Judges were exatly that on a former Vanilla server.
And there they did a good job.

Admins were the only ones that could ban and strip rule breakers. Where Judges had limited power but could
use kick and move commands. and maby afew that i forgot.
And that setup did actually work.

But then again we did not have as many *insert word* "weeping" players as there is here.

RE: Server Moderators/Police - Luke. - 08-25-2013

I'm in agreement with Lyth simply because it just makes the server a better place.

It'd probably be possible if most of the admins hadn't gone almost totally inactive. The server is in need of admins to be on more often, jumping from place to place. I don't want to sound like i'm insulting what they're doing already but attention is all it takes. People need help on a daily basis and now there are constant .ini file editors getting through the anti-cheat and causing mayhem because people don't know to just ignore them so they get bored.

Anything i've admined has required constant commitment, especially when it's busy. At least one around, keeping an eye.

Damn, why didn't I put a poll originally.
EDIT: added a poll.
