Happens sometimes when either you or the guy's having too much packet loss. Nothing we can do about it.

So basically, anyone who is using a virtual lagswitch?

Eh... yes it did. Welcome to a laggy world my friend Wink Enjoy the American feel.

(possibly Euro players are now having the same problem U.S./American players have been dealing with for ages because of server pinging/proxy?)

At any rate, it happens and it's not even close to a new issue. And I'd say 98% of the time it's not on purpose. It also sucks for the guy who IS lagging, as you can insta his ship while it's sitting still (before it warps when packets catch up), and on his screen he's escaped or is dodging like a boss then goes *poof*.

Damn you wooden Macs.... damn you.

This has happened to me many times. I don't see how this is a lag problem when somebody is completely still one moment and within a split-second they're 5k away and before I have a chance to blink a second time, they're gone. It's a relatively new issue for me, this never used to happen say a year ago. If it's lag-induced then I can only assume that a ship would be drifting or pinging back-and-forth before whooshing away at a ridiculous speed. If the other ship was sat still and then had a connection problem, surely a command would not be received by the server so they shouldn't really cruise off all of a sudden in the manner which they do. I also don't see how it can be a lag problem on my end when the ping command clearly shows me as having nil problems at that time.

As for the trade lanes, that's certainly an old bug. There is clearly a discrepancy somewhere but this is not new. I have to say though, advising people to not hit the lanes unless something comes is pointless given that stray gunfire and mines from the NPCs can disable them.

Information being sent from the player's end is being cut out (packet loss) and when it all comes in at once the server updates the ship's location, making it not warp, but suddenly "flash."

Like I said in the previous post, this has been happening to players further from the server than Europe for...ever, now that the new antiCheat and antiDDoS systems are in place there is a little more of this for everyone Wink Welcome to my world! <3

Your world sucks, man.

Looking into ways of reducing plugin-induced lag on the server is my next priority at the moment -- right after focussing on de-lagging the POB plugin.

I have a feeling I know some parts that may be causing the issue, at the very least...

Who? Where is my share? I'll happily get paid to not have lag.

It happened since, well, always.

I remember chasing old Kruger and DHC with my hessian and that it would happen all the time. Then I got a double nova barghest and they magically stopped doing the warps. Puzzles.
