There's a lot of us in the Welcome Freelancers topic. o.O Fast.

I hope the guy realizes just how much of a burn it will be when all this hype with the timer and no screenshots ends up biting him in the ass if it is not worth it.

If it's not worth it. I hope to god he is being serious about this.

If it doesn't have battleboats I probably won't play it.

It cannot really be Freelancer 2 due to the IP being owned completely by Microsoft. He'd have a lot of legal stuff up his ass, if he really calls it Freelancer 2 and reuses the lore. The only hope I see here is, if Microsoft would give him the complete rights in an act of mercy, but it's unlikely.

I am pretty sure it will be "only" a spiritual successor, which is still great. However, I will seriously miss the Freelancer lore.

On a side note, I am a little bit scared that this game will be too much of a dull simulation again instead of an action game. I actually loved Freelancer because it was not a die-hard simulation that needed a joystick. I liked the arcade-y controls and combat. I liked the Sci-Fi action movie staging and plot. Certainly, I do not wish for Call of Duty in space, but neither do I wish for yet another soulless, "hardcore" space sim that will face oblivion very fast. Actually, Freelancer 1 with more content (the countless mods fixed this problem flawlessly) and a newer engine would be perfect for me.

I just wanted to say that you took that out of my brain and put it here so I'll sue you for stealing my ideas directly from my brain.:DOnly one thing I'd like to point out. I won't miss the FL lore. I'm sick of it, actually. A new and controversial story (like Mass Effect had), new races of aliens (not just blue jelly things), new ship designs and more, I'm sure we'll get them. But I really want to see my ship from a 3rd person view and not from the cockpit.

If it is a prank - people will force him to regret it, and actually make FL2

Ha that would be awesome.

I'd just like to say that everyone should be behaving themselves on their forum. We're guests, and baiting users from other mods makes Discovery look bad in general. Don't pick fights and ignore those who do.
