RE: Death to silent traders - tyro - 12-15-2013 an escape isn't within traders RP? an escape isn't enough answer on pirate demand? do the trader really have to write: "dear pirate your 'halt. 15 mil or die' RP was awesome, thank you very much, I am impressed, but I don't want to pay, because 15 mil is much more than a value of my cargo and half of my equipment, so I am going to escape, and you will have to kill me, to get my scrap" ? report them, sanction them, ban them, this will help for sure. especially to reduce the number of traders. I think one of the reasons they were silent is because they werent expecting any mercy from you anyway? I also think people should be sanctioned for not behaving like I want them to. Soo now you are telling me that becouse of bad RP from pirate you are silent trader? also I don't say halt... it is hard for pirate to make good RP if you are runing... But I guess you are correct it is hard for some BT with Cau6 or higher to make some good excuse why he should not pay. Until then, hurpderp. About that, whats with all the 15 mill demands these days? RE: Death to silent traders - .Gypsy. - 12-15-2013 If a trader see's a pirate coming and decides to run/hits cruise rather then stop and let the pirate get 2 ft from him to have a conversation, that is RP IMO (though a "I think not" or "not today pirate" makes better RP. I always say something but if I'm gonna run, I hit cruise FIRST then talk as I'm running so I show that I do RP). Now if the pirate manages to stop/CD him, and its clear the trader is not gonna get away, then the trader should or "HAS" to RP. If he doesn't then yeah that sucks. EDIT: Silent players though is not just a trader thing, its annoying when someone simply will not talk at all ever. Even to say hello. RE: Death to silent traders - lIceColon - 12-15-2013 I for one am tired of certain lolwut pirates. Seriously what kind of pirate murders a half damaged empty freighter??? More than enough times have I Rp'ed with, then paid a pirate only to get blown up anyway. There's a reason in some games pirates are considered unwanted players, because traders are the ones putting in hours to earn their pixel credits, certainly more effort than some pirates make. And blowing up a trader full of ore after he has just travelled 30 minutes and even _paid_ off your demand could be quite discouraging. So much that now I don't even do trade lanes anymore, I just set my ship to travel Jump-to-jump and alt-tab out. I don't know the reasons why people are silent, but I can understand them. I don't know how looks RP of every pirate on disco, but 7 on 10 pirates I met don't say much more than one sentence 'stop, x mil or die'. I always try to expand the RP to something more interesting than only "ok, I pay", but only rarely it works. Pirates don't want to talk with trader, they want his money or blue message. Many times it made me angry, because it is no funny if on the other side of encounter is greedy, stubborn j..k. In such situations I think, that I should ignore the pirate, to boycott him, to give him same frustration. This may be one of reasons, why people are silent. When something wrong happen, before you start to accuse other people, try to ask yourself if it would not your fault. Nothing is happening without a reason. Of course there are also traders, who don't want RP at all. You can't do much about that. RE: Death to silent traders - Daron - 12-15-2013 I do not care about power traders anymore. |
