Funny, i havent seen that many hogosha around. I used to run deuterium to honshu all the time, never even hogosha NPC's there.

Junker NPCs all around Sirius are trying to rob you off your cargo. Point is to do that where nobody is looking and destroy the evidence - so not in house system and not when heavy patrols are around.
Also as a Junker you are SUPPOSED to be red to all house corporations.
Now you telling me that "mining" INDEFINITE scrap metal by shooting rocks right on the outside of a base to sell it for 5 times the price anywhere in sirius is completely RP? Oh well...
We're unfriendly to house corps, not hostile. We still deal with most of the house companies, like it or not - a junker makes no profit by being enemies with someone.
I'm sorry you dont think we should be able to make a third of what a trader makes by doing what our faction is supposed to do.

I have not read this thread but I am posting. (Dont KEEEELL me!)
But I have a proven Idea that works.
Make Niobium not sold on any bases or planets anywhere. so the only way to get it is to Mine it. then make stations ner Niobium fields that buy it for really nice prices like 5000credits.
the Freeworlds mod did this and it works beutifully. and it has the added benifit of ruining the #2 source of OORP in the entire Mod.
I think this is worth a try.
Another thing- ask them about their autoupdater.
esentially it is a special shortcut to Freelancer that before it starts the game it checks that it is up to date and if it isnt automatically updates it. This allows the modders to make small changes and bug fixes without releasing a huge Mod update that everyone has to spend an entire night downloading.
I say some of our Mod Gods should look into this.

5000 per unit of niobium right next to a mining field might be a bit much...
We get 500 credits per unit of scrap metal at bornholme, and it's currently the best place to 'mine' for profit.

I think this debris field really fits the the Junkers and I would hate to see it nerfed. Junkers that actualy want to collect scrap can do so and make some money. As for the non Junkers using it to line their pockets well I think that may become a little tougher in the future...

Oh yes, I've been kicking anyone who doesnt have a junker ID out of the bornholme field. I've already had to kill two transports (yes, I demanded cargo and a 'fine' first, stupid rules).
My faction post goes over this in great detail. These 'independent' junkers or non-junkers exploiting the field are creating a safety hazard for the 'real' junkers operating at bornholme, because they arent following proper salvage protocol. Part of the reason the Junker's Union was formed is to evict or 'train' these others so they dont run around bumping into other salvagers or endangering the station.

at 5000 a piece it worth it to do them one at a time, which is what FW does, except they have a different economy than us so its set 68000 so that it can be just about even with Trading, and the fields are thick with destructo-rocks with one Niobium in them.
Pluse, Junkers arnt the only people who wanna mine, if yall pump up mining somewhere I dont have to be a smelly Cardi-addict junker I will SO be there quite a lot. Its a very very good idea and i dont like trading, this is much much funner, one of the main reasons ive stuck with FW for so long ^^

I noticed the low drop rates recently, as I've been trying to set up a Junker char. It really needs to be upped back to the normal drop rate.
TO all those who recommended nerfing the field... why? There's nothing wrong with it. All it is is a fairly profitable mining area. It doesn't compare to trading, provides a credible source of employment for Junkers, and a great source of income for newbs.

Overgeneralize much? Junkers arent (all) cardamine addicts. None of the junkers working for me in the union should have anything to do with cardamine - our dealings are more with corsairs and hessians, both of whom hate cardamine (yes, hessians hate cardi, despite being allied to the outcasts).
Cardamine messes with your head, and a junker needs to be able to think straight to conduct 'business' properly. Just because we occasionally haul the orange doesnt mean we use it.

This field is restricted to Junkers yes but I think people in general would like to see minning improved for everyone not just Junkers. People complain about trading then complain when others find a good minning field withing RP :wacko:
