Why do I sense I am getting a 06'er planning to revive the faction No, I believe he is referring to the Colonial Republic RE: Kusari Exiles Faction existence: Official or Unofficial - Panzer - 03-04-2014 Republican Kusari folded to GRN and left their forntline units in the lower Taus and Leeds to fend for themselves - thus creating the royalist Kusari aka Exiles. CR's been briefly fighting Kusari pre-invasion seeing as both Kogen and my own presidential characters were immovable jerks and I though I could get away with snatching some Kusari real estate in the taus while they're busy in Leeds. Gallia happened and the new government decided to not only continue pewpewing us, but also align with Gallia. Considering, that if CR is to accomplish anything upwards of Coronado - it needs to do something about Kusari and since Kusari's acting government's stance is hostile anyway, I think it's only natural that CR should not antagonize the forces that aim at impeding that government. It was a dev move enforced on a playercharacter forcing its death. Its something tgat should never have been done. It should've been resolved in a different manner. RE: Kusari Exiles Faction existence: Official or Unofficial - Sol - 03-05-2014 A character that stays at the top of chain of command and can affect a whole house alone should never be controlled by a single person, but must be left to be played by the player pool of that house, as a part of the government body. In that way, the lore of factions and houses can become fluid, at least manageable enough to further the story, as long as there's active representatives of those factions. Zelot is neither the head of an official exile faction, nor a representative of the Kusari government. Allowing such important characters to be played by a single individual, and then binding that character to that individual only causes problems for everyone. Especially without the support of a working group of players who are representing the house by playing the game, and helping out, not loitering silent skype chats. It is the main problem right now. Zelot has to play, Zelot has to decide, Zelot has to form a faction of active exiles, or at least that faction of exiles has to obey whatever he decides. Even though it could be very fun to be in Zelot's shoes and to be playing Kogen, one man can only do so much, and will be inactive sooner or later. So I can understand why the devs wanted to make away with the character. Such a character should never have been in the possession of a player, but in possession of the community. At least that's what I think. Now that Zelot is not active, can't we continue the RP of exiles as few generals who are making some decisions in the absence of the former emperor. Emperors on whom he had trusted .. ?? Because as said, if Zelot doesn't come online, Exiles faction will remain blocked till then !!! untill and unless we find a new way around to work with the Role Play. RE: Kusari Exiles Faction existence: Official or Unofficial - Bulldog. - 03-05-2014 Just get the someone to RP the emperor.Other wise its useless to keep exiles around if no one may play it as a faction... RE: Kusari Exiles Faction existence: Official or Unofficial - Sol - 03-05-2014 You can roleplay within the established lore of the faction. Not as the WHOLE of exiles, but a part of it, autonomous to an extent if you wish. Until you prove yourselves and become official. By then, you get the right to have high ranks and would have the tools to lead the faction to a direction. RE: Kusari Exiles Faction existence: Official or Unofficial - Pancakes - 03-05-2014 Again, that's not the problem. The problem with a player with inRP absolute control of a faction (since if Jien Kogen says something, his soldiers will obey him and not the general). The problem that I raise is: "What happens when the will of the faction, without the individual in charge of it inRP, collide with his will?" See my point? I agree that a player surrounding faction is a problem, just like Sol said, and I get why the devs killed the character inRP. It's the the it was done that I don't agree with. However I already offered a suggestion to solve this, if things get done quickly enough it will even be included at U6. (Since it's simple, yet fixing the problem) In the mean time, any unofficial group of Kusari Exiles can rise up, because it will take a long time before they would get approved as official anyway, and by then this should be resolved. |
