Nope, too fking bad, I am worthless then, since the only thing I can possibly fly is a cap. Might as well go hang myself then. Cheers and same pinch ![]() For example, I wanted to learn the snub fights.. but it wasn't worth it because with a fluctuation of 10ms and constant loss of 2% (being my normal stats), I can't do much against a snub with better connection. Whereas in Cap brawls, the fluct doesn't matter much, target being huge.. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - Zayne Carrick - 04-16-2014 A shame, caps vs. snubs are eternal disco's problem. The one, who'll solve it will become supreme overlord of sirius. First, I wanted to write a huge post, but then I'll just agree with spazzy. People, who know what to do with caps are nearly as rare, as real snub PvPwhores. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - Connor - 04-16-2014 This is quite a good tutorial. I would recommend this. I think we should get this post pinned because many people will make do with this and find it very useful. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - TheJarl - 04-16-2014 Very well written and very useful. Not just to people who want to start a new faction, but I think also to people who are climbing faction ranks for the first time and for those who became faction leader of an already existing faction. Appreciate that you take the time to write something like this. Perhaps the guide is geared toward more advanced players with a specific faction already in mind with less hand-holding, but maybe there's a middle ground? "Picking the right ID for you" or something as an expansion to "Step nine: Focus>Generalization" that offers more open suggestions rather than suggesting they fall into line with existing examples. The good old "Who? What? Where? When? How? Why?". Maybe a little bit of how to interpret an ID. The LR example you gave is a good start. It could be organized from general to specific and the possibilities within - not that they have to fit things to the letter (there are pirate smugglers, corporate security forces, etc.) and I agree that doing their own research is an important responsibility:
RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - sindroms - 04-16-2014 That sounds good, actually. Will add it as a second post to this same thread, when I write it up. Cheers. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - Lythrilux - 04-16-2014 Something I did when I made the Junker Marauders, was I applied the 5 Ws. Also known as a the kipling questions: Who What When Where Why Sometimes How is also applied. InRP: 5 Ws: Who are you? What does your faction do? When was your faction established? Where is your faction based? Why does your faction exist? Then apply it in an ooRP context: Who are you? Will people take you seriously? What do you want your faction to be? What does it offer that's different to other factions? When Where Why did you decide to make this faction? As a leader, what are your goals? RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - iCon3q7 - 04-16-2014 Great tutorial. I'll link to it in the UAQ. Just a few questions: Step one: If you want to apply for SRP with slightly other rules than the standard ID. How do you go about creating a RP-basis for this, since the standard doesn't allow the 'bends' you are trying to make, you cannot play them out in advance ingame? I hope you understand my question. Step: Hmm.. Thougth I had more. It'll probably come back to me. No, I don't get. ID is usually forbidding only engaging. You can RP (nearly) whether you want with everyone. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - iCon3q7 - 04-16-2014 Ok, I'll give a more specific example. Lets's say I would like to make a Gaian group that not only want to save the Mother Goddess in Bretonia, but all over Sirius. I know that it wouldn't be allright to ask for a SRP that allows you to go crazy all over the place, but how would I go about extending the ZoI iRP just a bit before I apply for some sort of SRP? I don't? Would I in this case write a mock-up, post it in the feedback, then apply for an SRP if people like the idea? |
