Naming your ships - Colonel Z.e.r.o. - 09-07-2008 It also means darkness in latin I think. Naming your ships - stewcool - 09-07-2008 A diplomatic ship of darkness...How nice Naming your ships - Marburg - 09-07-2008 My TAZ ship is named the Erinloch & I have alot of references to the name sprinkled in a few places. Where it accually comes from, is that the ship's named after the lake where my Zoner (Riley Mackenzie) & his wife (Erin) were married. After her murder, he had a complete nervous breakdown & spent months wandering aimlessly around Sirius looking for his own death, until Malaclypse offered him another type of direction to wander in. Naming your ships - Eppy - 09-07-2008 I used to like to use musical names (Fantasia and Thick-as-a-Brick); my new IND Luxury Liner was named after a horse I used to know (Red Royale). Perihelion, my Kusari Dessie, just sounded cool. I'm replacing that with the Outcast Destroyer MNS Maria-Ruth, the first and middle names of my ex. The MNS Dies Irae is a return to the musical theme; the particular Dies Irae I have in mind is Guiseppe Verdi's. Alhambra was Dustin's name, and now that he's left we're waiting for it to get NCed to MNS Rainerio, after his character's name. The Armisael~Sanctifieriae was just a combination of the Angel's name and something Latin-sounding. I THINK that's all of the major ships I've created... Naming your ships - farmerman - 09-07-2008 One of the ships I've named was named after the cloud that Planet Kurile is in because I was pretty much operating from there at the time. Actually, I still am a good deal of the time. Naming your ships - Heartless - 09-07-2008 hmm... the 3 ships I have named are: -Bs|Helvet -Bs|Reliance -Bs|Khonshu Helvet is simply from Switzerland's name, Confederation Helvetia (Ch). So Swiss people are Helvets, hence the name Helvet, yey! lol! Reliance started with the fact that I wanted a Re*someting*. Many ships during the napolenoic era started with "re" like redemption, retribution etc. Since this was my first cap I wanted such a name and since this was the Order's research vessel I just thought of the idea that humanity relies on the Order for protection from Nomads, hence Reliance. Khonshu is my future Osiris and I wanted to keep the Egyptian god thing going. I looked for a good name and found Khonshu, forgot what it means but it was awsome, related to moon or something, idk. Well those are my name stories. Naming your ships - Caribe - 09-07-2008 Geographical Locations in my country. Naming your ships - jpo - 09-07-2008 I dont name my ships. The SN is good enough. Naming your ships - sempai17 - 09-12-2008 ' Wrote:I've always been tempted to make a ship called 'The Sephiroth', but I'd need godlike PvP abilities... You would REALLY need good PvP ability to keep up with a name like that. Seriously, in polls on something along the lines of "ultimate bad guy," Sephiroth still turns up on the top 10, if not top 5. As for me, I like to name my ships from either Japanese culture, anime/manga, games, and Lantin derived/sounding words. I named my Trade/Passenger ship "The Aertih" (as seen below) after the character from Final Fantasy VII. It is also fitting considering my character's story (please read and review VIA PM btw). A Prison Liner I previously owned, "The Lysithea," named thus after a ship in the anime short film "Voices of a Distant Star" in which the character is on-board "The Lysithea" bound for the Sirius System in pursuit of the Mars Attackers (a Mars colony was previously destroyed) by an alien race known as the Tarsians, who in my opinion, resemble primitive versions of Nomads. As for my other ships, their Monikers/Callsigns are; Sessha - a shortened word that samurai referred to themselves, and Sempai - meaning senior, as in upperclassmen. Used in schools and in work places between peers. Naming your ships - Fleur Dupont - 09-22-2009 Sorry for this Threadomancy:) But i was wondering how do i name my ship ingame? I mean for others to see when they click on my ship. I wanted to name my ship Domremi-la-Pucelle and would need a hint on how i might do that.. Cheers Fleur |
