Bornholm Depot and Omega 15 - worldstrider - 09-17-2008

//please note-- all my above posts (and this one) are "in character".

Indeed we are all Junkers which is all the more reason to point out when one is assuming a position and role that affects us all.

We have always prized personal independence and freedom--no Junker has a right to "force" another Junker to do something that violates his freedom at the point of a gun.

All stations belong to all Junkers and we are all free to pursue our own separate endeavors individual as well as collectively.

The problem here is that everyone tries to view bornholme as 'owned by all'. It isnt. It is under the control of the junker's union.

When the union was first created, there was nothing but chaos in omega 15. There were non junkers corsairs, hessians, even military all trying to step on each other to get their hands on as much scrap as they could. Even the 'real' junkers had absolutely no respect or care for the wellbeing of anyone else in the field.

The union was created to fix that problem, and it wasnt easy. Where the junker's congress and many other groups sprang up with little resistance, myself and the other founding members of the union had to literally fight a war at bornholme to clean up the mess. We had to destroy numerous ships and lost plenty of our own to bring order to the station and the workers there.

Now every junker resident to bornholme is part of the union. They all support it, and - like it or not - any 'visitors' from the outside are going to have to abide by our rules. If they dont, they are denied docking privileges, salvage rights, and will have our weapons trained on them until they leave the area.

It may seem strict to you, but you werent here when the Union was established, you didnt have to risk your ships and your crews just to bring relative peace and sanctuary to the station. Ask anyone aboard, they will tell you the same - bornholme belongs to the union, it is our home and we will not tolerate disobedience or insubordination by non union members while they are here.

//and no, this isnt just 'written' rp - I actually had to clean up that field as stated above. There were bounty hunters, indy rheinlanders, corsairs, hessians, traders, liberty navy, and even outcasts in the field fighting over scrap. It was not easy, and if mining wasnt screwed up right now I'd still be fighting daily to keep order there. The station belongs to JU members, and that's final.

Good luck on that--we have been trafficking there regularly and will continue to do so.

Your claims are as empty as your head.

//Well so much for RP. This thread should be moved.

According to the rules of the server the only systems that can be OWNED are guard systems thats it. No one can own a station or other system. I understand what you have put into it but saying you own it doesn't mean you do. I RP that I own the Culebra smelter and people respect that (mostly because its useless) but I don't really own it. Now if the congress buys PR then my claim can be backed up by the faction leader. Guard systems can be regulated this way. Other systems cannot.

Junker stations belong to all Junkers and threatining other Junkers is not our way.

Thats almost exactly what I was trying to say. Now THAT is the simplest way to put it:)

Well, it seems I missed all that brightly developing history all the time I flew Bornholm by or landed there.
My scanner never recorded any "Junker Union" IDd ships in the area - but I've been away lately, they might be swarming around there now.
Also the crew of the station from the decks to the bar were merely Junkers. No .:j:. representatives nor JU'ers.

Cheers,
Jane

//yes, Jane is indeed a bit cynical

// Your attitude/tone really hurts me. O15 is not a guard systems you do or you could own, and Bornholm station is a Junker station, not a faction stronghold.
Jane will never seek any trouble with you - "fellow Junker" - she will handle you with due respect as the "local" experts of the Rheinland related Junker space but not as authorities of Bornholm. Sorry.
And speaking OOC: all RP is only written. Some of them are written better and have greater acceptance.

It can be owned enough in-rp, we make the rules and we enforce them. Those who do not follow the rules are dealt with in-rp - if I have to kick a "fellow junker" out of the field because he/she is causing trouble, I can do it within the boundaries of my ID through taxing. The topic isnt up for debate, follow the laws the JU has set up and there wont be a problem.
