Honestly, false positives come down to a case of poorly picked antivirus and user error.

Never compromise protection for convenience

Nah not quite. Bitdefender is pretty good all around along with avast and co. It really boils down to the obfuscation we used. It could be solved vy signing the DLL but that's 180 € per year which is kind of out of the reach from a community like ours.

I'm still looking into ways to end the whole problem but time is the problem here.

People will cheat no matter what. If anyone REALLY wants to cheat, he or she will find a way.

I think software compability and issues with such is the main reason why we shouldn't include more code than it is. Not that some people are kicked and even banned, because of the software failure, server bug or because of third-party software that might be seen by game as cheating one (might happen, sooner or later.)

On the other hand, a lot of paid AV software will always find false positives, what might be a problem for players who use them and they don't really want to turn off AV software just to play the game. As a sidenote, there's a decline in AV trend, as far as I've seen. Reasons? The CPU usage, RAM usage and stupidity of AV active defense and its check systems.

I've seen a lot of AV software that failed to comply with its role after three months, making PC very unstable and unable to play, work or even to watch YT.

as programming sometimes - i know the Problems of false positive messages. The problem often is outdated sub DLL's or rather old programming stuff.

But an AV progamm is needed anyways. Well in my opinion the DLL has to be updated, cause trouble grows with each update.

Cheaters .... yes i think there are quiete a lot. But where to draw a line? I was accused (possible) cheating many times: switched too fast, broken DLL - when AV got mad etc. For example our small Groups uses *.reg files to change id. This works pretty fast and doesnt irritate the launcher. So we minimized the need of restarting the game.

But real cheaters have to be taken away from server. I remember the base bashers a year ago.
