Lets break this down to simple point form, so as to make the sides easier to understand:
- If the issue for the mods (seeing as no comment has come from Admins) is just the time to moderate all the titles, then it seems a bit of a lazy objection. Just make a thread then, where posts are made invisible except for staff, and have a mod go through it say once a week setting approved titles or rejecting inappropriate titles. problem solved.
- If it is some titanic issue, then why do (some of) you guys bother changing your own or another staff members? At that point, it smells like some fragment of elitism floats under the surface and that's not particularly good.
- If it's not an issue at all, then just do it and stop prevaricating. There are suggestions in this thread that staff could enact to safeguard against any inappropriate titles slipping through while not increasing the mod's workload.
Since the general pro-side is now outlined, perhaps someone from each of the 2 anti-sides could present their arguments in point form. oh, and no vague arguments or ones that are already countered by previously mentioned suggestions.

We don't need custom user titles, my mommy already told me I'm a super special snowflake so I don't need this forum to tell me too. Can't we just have it like it used to be? 'Titan Pilot' etc.?
On that note, there used to be a counter on our profile where we could see how many % of our posts were in the RP section and how many were in oorp-sections of the forum. That was a good way to keep balance, I miss that little counter.
EDIT: OR!!! Make automated user titles based on number of comms and rp posts only - that will make vain users spam RP posts, and that would be good, right?

Remove them from everyone. That way folks can't complain about it. (dull)

Irrelevant. All can have them, none can have them. Makes no major difference either way.
Probably the best idea would be that people ask mods to get those assigned if they really need it.

Come on, calm down. You can show your indifference in other, more civilised ways. I assure you that your attempt at depicting my thought process is laughable. Now read what you wrote and tell me you don't think it sounds obtuse.

its a forum for fracks sake, stop going on about so called custom titles, deal with it, its nothing important is it, the time spent moaning about it, you could be in server flying making a difference!
