Subject: Sigma Security

Following inspection of Sydney Station in the Omicron Theta system to ensure Guild ships have docking access, which is indeed the case, a freelance transport was encountered and scanned in the Sigma-17 system. The ship had a hold full of what were unmistakably alien artifacts, but of a composition not witnessed before.

In exchange for both information and the safe transfer of this cargo to my ship, the pilot was allowed to continue his journey without further consequences. The artifacts have been transported to Sigma-19 for study.

Later the same day, a serious incident occured in Sigma-13. Massive energy readings were suddenly reported by both Gas Miner Naha and Helgoland Station, appearing without warning. Given the natural interference of the Crow Nebula, the true strength of these signatures is unclear but can safely be assumed to be of an astronomical scale.

The Guild was evidently not the only group to suspect something was wrong, as heavy assets belong to the Kusari Naval Forces, the destroyer Okinoshima and battleship Katana arrived to lend their assistance. Given the severity of the situation was unknown at the time of their arrival, they were temporarily granted access to Guild space.

Ship scanners began to lose performance on approach to the origin of the anomalous readings, but further investigation revealed a large alien structure lurking in the cloud. The area had previously been confirmed to be clear, and although how it came to be is unknown, some clues were left behind later. Large Nomad ships of a previously unknown composition were on the scene, and had attracted the attention of many assorted ships, including a Core Mako.

Several waves of Nomad ships attacked the area in an unusual pattern that would likely not be employed by any human military, leading to the destruction of many Nomad ships and an overall but costly human victory, with the large structure destroyed, before the remaining aliens disappeared into the Nebula. It is possible this incursion was a test of new battle strategies, or a feint to probe the security of the Sigma systems. Contact shall be made with the Order.

In the aftermath of the battle, a great deal of alien materials were salvaged from the wreckage, including a power cell. Several pieces of wreckage are strangely exhibiting the same electromagnetic readings as commonly recorded around jumpholes. The recent boost in The Guild's research capabilities as a result of the enlistment of several experienced scientists from Cambridge will go a long way in our attempts to ascertain exactly what happened and what information can be gleaned from it.

Fortunately, some assistance has arisen in the unlikely form of an independent Zoner researcher, who was present at the attack. He has shared his findings with The Guild, and directly transferred local copies of his data to my ship, which were subsequently uploaded to the GMG intranet via Gas Miner Naha for investigation.

The penultimate event of note involved a Core "Mako" Battleship, originally detected on its way to Planet Hiran, and failing to comply with directives instructing it to come to a stop. It continued to move towards the Luxury Liner Hawaii, likely since its captain was aware it was in violation of Guild law. The ship did eventually come to hold position and scans determined it to be in possession of alien materials, its second infraction.

The captain refused demands its cargo be confiscated, and moored with the Hawaii to avoid prosecution. Communications for both the captain and Orbital Spa and Cruise are presently being composed.

Finally, a Hogosha base has been discovered in the Okinawa system. A Hogosha fighter was discovered in Sigma-19 and, evidently feeling outmatched, immediately vanished through the nearby Okinawa jumphole. It fled through the Hasuda Asteroid Field, and, shortly after a declaration of intent, made an emergency landing on a previously unknown installation.

To all Guild's personnel. Guildmaster Keiji Namura's gone missing so for now I'll take responsibility and guide the Guild through Namura's absence.

All Paramilitary squadrons are meant to be deployed as soon as possible. Look for Guildmaster's ship or its wreckage and report everything you've found so far to Aomori. Squadrons are advised to search beyond our borders as well including Honshu, Hokkaido, Omicron Theta and Beta, Frankfurt and Munich.

Orders regarding The Archangels Fighter Club and Sigma-15 are still active. All paramilitary squadrons are also allowed to intercept Kruger transports heading to Rheinland. You can continue your pursuit in Munich and Frankfurt system. You are also allowed to engage Samura transports. Demand money or part of their cargo. If they refuse to comply then use of lethal force is allowed. Keep intercepting them in Frankfurt if you found them in Sigmas.

Transports and miners should proceed with their routine work. Await further instructions.

That's all.

Sigma-21 is currently being invaded by House Kusari.

During a sweep of the system undertaken for Operation: Banjou, an unauthorised installation was detected, as a ship began to depart from the vicinity. This ship belonged to Samura Heavy Industries and came to a stop when directed. The pilot of the transport claimed the station belongs to the Kusari Naval Forces.

Shortly afterwards, a KNF fighter arrived on scene, followed by a second fighter. At this time, I had no interest in communicating with the naval forces and initially departed. On return to sensor range a short while later, a battlecruiser, equipped with cloaking technology, had arrived. This unwarranted show of force is a flagrant violation of Guild sovereignty.

The battlecruiser moored with the station, and I returned to the Battleship Daishouri.

Some days later, a Kusari Naval Forces transport, hauling robotic hardware, was encountered in Honshu. Out of curiosity, I tailed it to a jumphole, which it took, and emerged in Sigma-21.

It then proceeded directly to the offending base, which has clearly been fortified. All of the above lends credence to the Samura captain's claim, and The Guild is holding Kusari responsible for attempting a hostile takeover of a Guild system.

A Liberty Rogue transport was earlier detected in Sigma-59. The Rogues are unwelcome in Guild space due to their hostility towards GMG ships in and around House Liberty, however, it was accompanied by two Blood Dragon ships, who vouched for its presence. With the word of our friends in the Dragons, alongside the more pressing matter at hand, it was allowed to remain unhindered.

I informed the Dragons of a zone of interest in Sigma-21, and they accompanied me to the location of the unauthorised Kusari station in the system. The Shogunate will now soon be aware of its presence, and a message shall be sent containing our evidence of its ownership.

An unaffiliated ship has been detected in the Sigma-19 system and scans came back positive for unlawful organic cargo. However, it managed to evade interdiction and escape into the Hiryu Cloud. Guild patrols should be on alert for sightings of a borderworlds transport marked A17-1.

In another development, The Guild has been in receipt of a broadcast allegedly originating from the guildmistress of the Core, Enma Loyola, which can be viewed on public neural net page 157069. The contents of and intention behind the message are unclear and may simply be the result of intoxication. However, given the open access to the transmission, it is worth being monitored by The Guild.

It would appear that Enma Loyola has previously been encountered in Guild space under entirely different circumstances, which is most suspicious. A close eye must be kept on this situation.

Deliveries of supplies to Niigata's shipyards to be used in the construction of the Shantar-Maru, part of Project Kikou, continue to arrive.

In a more curious development, a message has been received from Enma Loyola.

The Guild's experience with Loyola is that of a vicious, hostile fighter pilot somehow wielding alien weaponry and equipment. The potential for a malicious ruse is great, however, as in business and war, all potential avenues of benefit must be explored.

We will tread carefully, but a reply to Loyola will be formulated and sent, in order to determine the details of her situation. Her apparent connections to both the Outcasts and The Core may present an opportunity to exploit for The Guild's gain.

Subject: Sigma-17 Incursion

A lone Corsair ship was encountered and destroyed during a patrol of the Sigma-17 system. Given the area's contested status, particularly with the conflict surrounding Planet Kurile, extra paramilitary efforts have been directed to ensuring the security of the system.

During this patrol, an illegal installation was discovered, despite its efforts in vain to keep it concealed. Its position on the outer edge of the Nemuro Dust Field did little to prevent its detection. This station denies The Guild access, is obviously attempting to hide its position and carries a naming convention often observed attached to Corsair and Outcast warships and assets. This, combined with fact several hostile groups such as Samura, the Hogosha and the Corsairs are challenging Guild authority in Sigma-17, means this station is marked for immediate destruction.

Guild protocol usually provides the administrators chance to explain their circumstances and evacuate their construct, however, given the circumstances this station will be struck and dismantled without prior warning, nor, should this operation proceed without interference, will The Guild admit responsibility for its destruction.

The aforementioned installation belongs to our foes the Corsairs and must be deconstructed as swiftly as possible.

Upon approach, a Corsair cruiser was deployed on guard. This ship is clearly acting in defence of the station had had no reservations about opening fire on my ship. In addition, we are in receipt of a message regarding this illegal construct on neural net page 158948.

On retreat from the area, a Coalition battlegroup was encountered at the Sigma-19 jumphole. This group was technically in violation of Guild law as it included capital vessels in Guild space without prior authorisation, but given the circumstances, a decision was made to overlook this.

The Coalition has been informed of this offending base. Whether they will show any interest is unknown, but should they decide to dedicate any resources to its removal, the safety of Sigma-17 may just be guaranteed.

Subject : The abundance of criminals

Konichiwa,

Recently, more and more often I see criminals in the House of Kusari.
A few days ago I, flying through New Tokyo, saw the pilot of The Commune. Right under New Tokyo, he tried to rob a civilian ship. Despite the fact that it would seem it's not my concern - I tried to stop it. Fortunately, after a few minutes from the station, the KNF pilot took off, who, after the explanations, entered into a fight with The Commune and, as far as I know, the offender was defeated.
Today I involuntarily met with Hogosha Association. These... pilots stopped me at the trade line near the gate to Honshu. Without even letting me know what was happening, these people began to accuse me of some crimes.
After I collected a whole list of crimes, suddenly a pilot of the Kusari police appeared on my radars.
However, this man was only identified as the police. As I understand it, the officer was at one with Hogosha, because he quickly learned where we were and arrived in the shortest time.
Even without listening to me, he demanded money from me for the crime invented by Hogosha.
Without any evidence of my guilt, the policeman stubbornly continued to demand money from me.
When I again tried to prove my innocence, this "policeman" issued an ultimatum - or I pay a fine for the crime that I did not commit, or I will be destroyed.

Quickly reacting, I managed to escape from these corrupt humans. However, Hogosha persistently continued to pursue me to Okinawa.
Forcing me to fight and insult, he tried in every possible way to lead me to a fight.
I did not attach importance to his words, but the fact that he invaded the space of the GMG gave me an excuse to destroy him.
The pilot admitted that he had been looking for this for a long time.

However, that most of all I was amused - after a while the aforementioned policeman came running to help him, offering help to Hogosha in a fight.
Unfortunately, I failed to protect the honour of GMG in battle. However, I do not think that this is our last meeting.

As it turned out, Kusari is full of criminals.

Namura, be careful and remember these names. These are corrupt people who will try to harm the Guild at any opportunity.

Following The Guild's message to Ageira Technologies, a representative of Ageira Innovations has visited Planet Kurile in Sigma-17. Their Grizzly freighter was loaded with equipment commonly used in their exclusive products.

Ms. Griffith shed much light on the restoration of docking to Planet Kurile, and was eventually escorted out of the Kunashir Cloud and through Sigma-19 to the Honshu jumpgate, where we ultimately parted ways.

The Guild awaits a message from President White.
