RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Lennox - 01-30-2016 When I first joined the server my english was actually very, very bad. And it stayed like that for a long time until I started to write stuff on the forums, skype and so on. I didn't choose any option because unless you really cannot write a single word of english or know basics of grammar there is always room to improve. Let's say I didn't play on Disco, right? My english would still be very, very bad. So if I met a person who has some issues I'd try to stay patient and make everything I saw as easily understandable as possible. tl;dr give 'em time! RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Sylvie557 - 01-30-2016 Also just to clarify, broken english is a different story and something I am willing to work around but when the person can't communicate at all with me, I don't really have a choice inRP and like other people have mentioned, powertraders have tried the "I don't speak english" line on me as a way to try and get out of piracy before. RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Lennox - 01-30-2016 True enough. If the person doesn't know any english it's mostly a hopeless case. I'm still not really sure if it's a solution to report them right away. In any case, trying to tell them that they have to be able to understand and write english at some point is probably the next thing I would try to do, dunno RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - SeaFalcon - 01-30-2016 Is this a way to get blues? RP a non-english speaking person to get shot at and return fire in self-defense? :o RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Arbs - 01-30-2016 Try to communicate the best I can, even that means being quite basic, and give them fair treatment. It may come as a surprise, but it works quite some times. RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Anomander - 01-30-2016 The question is biased especially without context. I'm "No English" player - since english is not my native language. If We are talking about players who don't know even one word in english, then the best way is to try tell them that on official RP server some basics of english are required in order to RP or communicate properly with others players. RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - NoMe - 01-31-2016 to put an RP level beside the IFF could be a good thing for those who need to show their RP quality! when i escort, i escort, i am not here to discuss! when i have to fight, i'm not here to discuss too! sometime i discuss with other players, but like it is not my better way..... isn't it a game? a place to pew, to trade, to be killed, to try to stay alive? i already saw some young players who like to be attacked by the pirates, they prepare enought money to pay them, they try to pay less etc etc personally, when i see a pirate, i am prepared to die or win depend of the pirate. i try to keep my first idea, who is, no money from me! sometime i finish as wreck, sometime no! i have 2 or 3 chars specialised in long and dangerous runs! i don't know exactly, why you have this question in mind, let's play the other! imagine if every people say, oh NO in their own language, don't play on disco 24/7 they don't like the stranger! after surely that the server could have a player limit reduced to, how much? sure the english is not easy for me, but i have already asked different players in game, they understand me! for the instant that's all RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Dawson Base - 02-01-2016 Really depends on my mood. Sometimes I can be patience made manifest, while sometimes I just say ''screw it'' and announce my ''I am so done with you'' by planting the person back on the last base they docked at. These days most encounters of such kind still belongs to traders. The amount of silent or non-english speaking traders are at an all time high, but I almost never get to see ships that get funded by this. Liberty seems to be, in general, almost oddly empty of silent LNS in the way that I remember it to be. Either they never get to those ships and quit the mod or they have moved elsewhere in Sirius.
