i'd rather do steam groups than discord
but also there are people that do not have steam too
skype works becasue it is known and an independent and can be used for other things than disco so it is worth downloading.

Skype is not independent. It belongs to Microsoft, who ruined it. Discord doesn't even need to be downloaded. It has perfect browser interface.

Yes. Discord > Skype. i just downloaded Desktop Discord I will be keeping skype too until majority of peeps moves over to Discord.

The problem is that Skype is universaly used, while Discord is quite specific. I do not think all people would like to remember yet another password or use yet another program at the same time. True, Skype is not the sharpest tool in the shed - but universality, used not only for Disco but also for schools, work and (un)social life, makes Skype the most valiable choice.
