What the hell, do not leave.

There's is no exit from Discovery.

No, but you gotta learn the rules and how roleplay exactly works. You have a vague idea of what roleplay is, especially the trader - pirate relation, but you're far from actually knowing how to roleplay, or what roleplay even is. Don't leave, but don't come to Pennsylvania either until you learn the rules, how to interact, and refrain yourself from writing oorp in system and private messages about someone breaking the rules even though they did nothing wrong, because it's harming new players more than helping.

Stay with your work, but please, don't always use the group chat when we are in the helium cloud. I'm a bit annoyed about how everyone and their mother use those to chat without the need of role play. I agree on using it to teach or when organizing and coordinating the big Penny-Okinawa convoy, but I have the feeling most people, not only newbies, think the helium cloud is a ooRP chat, filled with smartphone speech (np u r full thx) and emotes and everything without any capital letters. I know, some are not the best at english (like me) but it's learning by doing. When other "teach" you how it's done, newbies get it really fast.

That's my opinion based on my experiences in Penny. And I love the pirate action there, even if I get killed every time with all those bombers out there. Big Grin

From me... no more helping, thats for sure...

Improve the rules text. There are a lot of players (like me) non english... maybe I missunderstood something... not sure... and several words people using here... have no sense for us, a bit more wide/generic english will help us.

Good luck.

Oh lady... how can you say that...

In group chat I always ask "we use OORP here, its ok?" specifically for explaining things to the newbies....

If I use local for 3 or 4 newbies around (who dont know where is the Atention Required icon is), someone complaint about im using local, if I use Group.... others complaining about that...

Better not say a word, leave newbies guess how to use channels and so on...

I see there is not a way for help 3 newbies at once....

Try to do that when there are pirates around really nervous for engage something...

If im in pennsylvania in group with some small ships, you must understand they are newbies, and they will use ooRP in group...

Im not a Nomad, i cannot comunicate with all newbies around with telepathy.... how do you will help more than 1 newbie then?

And in Helium cloud, local... i never used smartphone speech... damit! i dont use it in my phone!

Im also bored to say to those newbies in private "//avoid smillies, is supposed a real radio voice channel, symbols have no sense" I NEVER used that emotes, and when I see it i always say in private to the newbie "//instead that use *smile*, *laugh*, *farting on micro*...."

But dont worry people... my helping days are over.

We're not saying to stop helping, we're just asking to change your methods

I never saw that sentence in our groups. To be honest, I never saw that sentence in any group. Can be that you do say it, but I don't even have a chat log about that.

I can only talk about those cases where I experienced it like I described it above. Feel free to use the group chat for ooRP, but, as I said, don't do it always. And on the other hand, don't use the 20k/system chat for non-rp talk. Not even if "we are the only ones in this area", because that implies you don't have to roleplay in the roleplay chat on a roleplay server as long as you don't see anyone else in 14k range (and the chat has more range). I know, you don't do it in most cases, but when newbies see that you do it, then they think it's okay. That's what I'm saying.

And don't tell me there is always a newbie around/in group. As far as I experienced it, it was not always the case. Those moments are the only ones related to my statement. I'm not saying "You are generally doing this". If you think that's what I want to say, it's wrong.

I can't say I've ever met you ingame in any of the years I've played, but I agree with Sabre on this one. Teaching new players isn't a bad thing, but teaching them the wrong things will do more damage than good. I've flown around Pennsylvania on my Coalition, and I've only had lawfuls (i guess what people would call "your squad") chase me down and announce where I was, but once I told them that I was there peacefully they left me alone. I think it'd be better if they knew that it's alright to stick around unlawfuls and roleplay if they're not being openly hostile

I llogged my Corsair character last night and flew to Penny just to see the response there. I must say it was not hostile. I explained I was there for observation only and was asked peacefully to leave. TheHelper was involved in the interaction and i must say it was really fun. When I started on this server the 1st person to even talk to me was JohnnyWalker. He showed me how to make money to upgrade my ship and to advance in the game. I think he is doing a great job. I have learned allot from him and do so every time I in Penny.

Don't leave Johnny, you do good work for the newbies. Maybe take a break and let them gend for themselves for a bit but don't leave.

Two things:

1. Keep doing what you are doing, and keep having fun doing it.
2. Never ask anybody on the internet for their opinion - especially not in this fine community.
