Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Ceoran - 11-21-2008 ' Wrote:... So far on that Huegenot part. Ships will be primarily Scimitars, but of course we will need bombers if there are any hostile caps passing by. (You can't kill a gb with Kraken type I) And yes, there are many capital ships around Malta, including my battleship, but I usually keep it docked unless necessary and then some time afterwards for rp. (Ever stayed a while in Malta? I stopped counting the - mainly rogue - enemy cruisers and battleships.) Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Turkish - 11-21-2008 Well, be prepared for the Don's to be giving you orders. Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - cmfalconer - 11-21-2008 Quote:The MNS means Maltise Naval Ship And each one is indevidual captain of its ship .I know. Just like LNS, RNC, etc. some good some bad. Quote:if you noticed some " lack of maturity " in some MNS dont deem them allI'm not, only those herbally enhanced. Quote:as existing factions have their own chain of command and do things according to policy that was decided before Quote:general "I want a faction too!" feel These are (if reading the short story correctly) the sons of two MNS captains forming their own band. not a switching from fun-ships to snubfighters (sadly). Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Weedalot - 11-21-2008 ' Wrote:Well, be prepared for the Don's to be giving you orders. I belive we should let the dons have a go at it dont you? if you are not a don dont guess what they going to do or say. i cannot guess or know, so without having some secret power hidden within you please leave it to them Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Turkish - 11-21-2008 Seriously, drop the attitude. You have a good idea with lots of potential, and I can already what what some of the Don's will say. We're a family here, and a lot of us are good friends with each other. I like the concept, what I dislike is your execution. Another fact is that this server is a community, we act and think together most often. This is not just a matter for the Don's, but a matter for anyone who decides to play upon this server. The only real concern I even have is that your naming scheme to date is immature and ruins RP immersion. Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Ceoran - 11-21-2008 regarding cmfalconer: As you imply me some lack of maturity now, as well as the "I want a faction too"-feeling, let me tell you something about me: This faction idea based on a statement made by one of the dons some time ago. Before that, I had been reading through many faction background stories, message dumps, handbooks and recruitments of factions more or less aligned to the outcasts. The one pleasing me most was the Lane Hacker one, but I couldn't finally decide to apply as I'm not a native English and might need some more time typing rp than others. Not the best conditions for pirating if you want to get a good rp into it. I've been in sigma-13 for a long time, I know the bad side of it. Well, back to the beginning. I saw the statement that there would be players needed in Tau-23 and thought some days about the opportunities that would be there. As well in rp as in beeing interesting for the players (who want's to roleplay in a system noone is visiting? The =CR= are out there too and the Bretonia-Kusari-conflict is not far away). Then I started to talk to other outcast players, at first to some "indies" I knew that they have a GMT close to my one and then to some faction players. In other words: I wanted to be sure that there would be members ready to join as well as it would be in rp for the existing factions. Now please judge me again. Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Weedalot - 11-21-2008 i will say it once Weedalot or weed for short is what i used for every known place on the web i used it when i joined discovery and i was completely new to it. i managed build my RP skills using that name and in no intention of changing it. it is not offensive and not intending to make fun of anyone. the people in game that know me respect me for the action and can put the " Name " issue aside. i hope so could you, it is here to stay and to play. (role play ) Quote:I like the concept, what I dislike is your execution. you cannot dislike it as it wasnt executed. yet first you need to see it in action to decide. and as i said leave the name out of it it doesnt have anything to do wth who the char was he was named after his father as his father was named after his.... dont make fun of the Borracho familly please i believe they wouldnt like it Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Ceoran - 11-21-2008 Another thing: could we please talk about the faction idea (in a constructive way of course, we are open for criticism) and not about one single name. We never expected that it would be highly welcomed right from the beginning. That's why ship list, equipment list and estimated diplomacy are not in here right now (I say estimated as some factions might have a different look at it.) A possible ZoI has already been chosen too. But before we keep on revealing details we would like to have some responses about the idea of an - in short form - outcast fighter-class squadron acting from Tau-23, only containing young pilots (that's why we will prefer the scimitar, little hint for the ship list;)), not pirating in sigma but focussing more on the relationships to the allies and friendlies. (More hints) All you know until are the background, if there are problems with the background (more devastating than one name) we will have to start up again there. If I remember the steps right, the background is the first step, right? edit: didn't read the post of Weedalot right above before, I was typing all the time. Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Eppy - 11-21-2008 Quote:The 101st command structure is(now) very level headed, and willing to listen I'm sure.Jeez, people, don't you think you're being a bit harsh?. You're already gone into Eppy in Bad Mood Yelling at a Reactionary Scientologist Convention Mode, and that's not the best way to handle this thing. I like this idea a lot. We've been wanting to put somebody at Cali, but we haven't got quite the numbers to do it. To have another faction with a command structure capable of making its own decisions stationed there would be quite the boon, and we'd be glad to have you aboard. After all, with a player group as large as the Outcasts things are more centralized. Each faction operates with a lot less individualism than normal; the Council of Dons makes decisions primarily as a whole, and most all policy changes go through the whole of us. Having a seperate command structure that can make its own decisions under the Outcast model of government is an excellent addition to the ranks, and I, for one, would be pleased to have you along. That said, the proposal and some appearances in-game need work. If you intend to use the same kind of naming scheme as your indies then you have a problem; some proffessionalism is always a good idea. You're going to be wanting to expand your shiplist a bit; maintaining a Sabre and Falcata alongside the Scimitar wuold be adviseable for every pilot, as the Scimitar is really best in rocky settings like Tau-23, whilst on raids into Kusari you'll be wanting something heavier, namely the bombers and Sabres (a combination of Sabres and Scimis would be best, actually). Either way, cheers from the retired Uberlord.:) EDIT: Oh, and being far more straightforward with your faction details will get you a lot better response. Knowing and not liking something is a lot more reasonable to this community than not knowing it at all. We hate things like that here. Introduction to Cali Combat Squadron The [CCS] - Ceoran - 11-21-2008 Ok, you convinced us, here are more details: Zone of Influence/Interest
Core Zone
As we are based on Cali in Tau-23, most of our forces will be stationed in Tau-23. As Outcasts we will defend any other outcast base if needed, so we consider the following systems our core zone:
Omicron Alpha Tau-23 Omicron Beta Omicron Eta Newcastle Operation Zone
The Operation Zone covers all systems we will have to pass through to move from one base to another as well as any system our ships will mainly operate in.
Tau-space (except guard systems) Kusari (jump hole to Kyushu is in Tau-23, not far away from our base. Main intentions there are to disturb military actions that could endanger our activities in Tau-space) Liberty (due to our relationship with the Lane Hackers we will work together with them, maybe with the Rogues too.) Un-recommended Zone
Friendly and allied Guard systems (unless invited)
Sigma-space (The forces stationed on Malta are closer, so there is no need for us to go there) Bretonia (allowed to pass through to visit the Mollys and maybe to disturb any Kusari assaults on Bretonia if lead by a high-ranked officer) Omega systems (While the forces on Malta are facing the Corsairs from and in Gamma, the forces in Cali can engage them from the other side, again only if a high ranked officer is leading the assault.)

Piracy/ Trader Policy - Traders/Smugglers carrying cardamine: No pirating of course, depending on the situation you are allowed to escort them if they require it. - Traders/Smugglers caught in Tau- or Omicron-space with a cargo that is known to be needed on Malta are not to be pirated if they are carrying it there. List of cargo will be enhanced if necessary: <---> Engine parts <---> Slaves <---> Pharmaceuticals <---> Light Arms <---> MOX - Traders/Smugglers with non-listed cargo may be pirated depending on the system you see them in. Not allowed are all systems out of our Zone of Interest. Within Bretonia you are only allowed to pirate if you are assisting in a Lane Hackers operation. Avoid fights against the BAF and the BPA. |
