A lot of small can add up to a big, so I can imagine it could be the result, but I am not convinced it indeed would be. Some more accurate numbers besides "a lot" would be a bit more handy in that regard.

Move them like, barley 1 k then reduce the gun range by a little?

They dont have to be exact. It makes little to no difference since the time you cruise 1k is nothing.

I honestly don't even see the issue here.

The chances of the lane dropping and a trader jumping in a second later are fairly small.
As a pirate you only shoot the lane once an actual trader jumped in anyway, if people are grouped and use the time to jumped through after that then they are abusing game mechanics and you can report them.

In all my years here I've ran into this issue maybe ones or twice?

Claiming that traders are all knowing on this part is funny as well since we all know most of them aren't even tabbed in the game when hauling goods.

Or perhaps, if you're really that bothered by it, you could just find a center of a lane.

If someone does it , is it considered sanctionable or no.

Have you ever chased a trader as a pirate and he kept shooting down the last lane? You could still keep up him.
And this is like... Every lane... Not just 1k from a JG additional. It makes no sense to me that it would effect the economy so bad that it would need to be reworked in numbers just to change them all by a TINY bit that wont even effect your trade by even a million.

That's ok, nobody expects it to.

If it doesn't follow reason and doesn't make sense to be an issue, then it should be ignored as a problem.
Escalating the problem to seem horrible to others is wrong.
I would gladly trade a bigger issue for a smaller one.
Cr/s is a myth as well if you want to take it as accurate. Your lane will most likely be disrupted at least once on your journey or a NPC will be blocking your JG.

In all likelihood, station and gate weaponry won't do damage to tradelanes whatsoever once the next update hits.

Remove gate pulses. The simplest, fastest, most efficient fix with almost no effort involved.
