The reason you see so many fewer pirates is cuz
1. Piratz have less caps
2. Piratz have no BC

Bombers are effective when there are 2 or more. And believe it or not ... a single gunboat has more of a fighting chance against 2 bombers than he does against a single BC.
And for those of you that brag about taking down BC's blindfolded ... congrats ... but I'm not one of those looking to get into PVP combat with them. Not everyone is PVP savvy. There are a few of us that would rather role play with a bounty hunter before the guns start blazing. Unfortunately THESE bounty hunters in their BC's never role play with you. They just watch you exit Yanagi and open the guns.

I see a lot pirates, usually after 10:30 PM EST USA (3:30GMT) in Liberty.
I have actually sought out decent pirates to get pirated by *Cough*Orin*Cough*. Dang it, if I am going to get pirated, I want it to be done by a professional!:D

I spend most of my time these days flying my other characters. I've only got one pirate now ... total of 10 characters ... but only one pirate. When people get a bit more rational when they encounter a pirate ... I might be willing to give you some good piracy role play. As for now ... my Black.Pearl will just fly around to be seen ... and that's about it.

I haven't been pirating in ages either, my laggy internet won't let me. So I dunno what the situation is like around Liberty, but I haven't seen any familiar faces for a while. Seems most of the pirates I used to fly with have moved on.

And Black.Pearl has an agreement with GMG to avoid pirating on the trade lanes and near Naha within Sig 13. In return the GMG gives me full run between the NB and Chugoku jumpholes.
That is ... when I'm active. When 4.85 gets here ... we'll see what happens. As for now ... I'm in silent protest for what Asymptotic so aptly put ... pseudo-RP experienced by certain lawful types. Until further notice ... all my characters are playing the part of a neutral non-hostile.
