RE: Roleplaying Ironically - mayu20 - 07-05-2016 Thing is, the RP has become too similar. If you read on the story/bio, you will often find the same thing with differed words but with the same outcome. There is always the same happy beginning and tragic end. If not that you will find the low life person goes to lord of crime or whatever. Some people are not capable to RP something differed, you have to think about this, making a RP is like a writer writs a good book, or a actor acting very good. Look at movies with a actor that plays the same role in every movie, like Jason Statham and an actor that has many roles under his belt, like Leonardo DiCaprio. Statham will never be able to cover such a wide range of different characters, where DiCaprio does with ease. Is the same here, people can only do one generic RP and even then, they might not be able to do it properly. Writing a good RP is harder than what it seems. Even the houses RP is almost the same if you look at it. But then again, could be just me. Especially as it only takes a moment of thinking before you press the "enter" key. Spazzy is right with his post. If roleplay was more serious, more people would find it rewarding. However, I wouldn't generalize it like he did. Once you have a bit more ingame contact to certain people, you get in touch with their stories and see the difference. I think, for example, Sapphire Raven's bipolar behavior is very well done, as it is authentic presented like a real bipolar person. However, this is Freelancer Discovery, entire Sirius is a dystopia with people tending to very extremized behavior. Of course things get dark here, since people shoot each other for insults or trespassing areas with the wrong ID or ship class. If you're riding unsafely, be prepared to face the consequences. What comes to the whole topic, I have 2 things to say: first, how would you rate the stories, how would you compare them? How would a non-native English speaker stand a chance versus a native speaker? Are there people who actually spend lots of time reading and rating various stories? And the second thing being, before daydreaming of such things, make sure you have someone to actually participate. I of course mean the current activity issues. The idea isn't bad, but оldfаgs are not interested to come back. Server's not going to be 255/255 ever again
RE: Roleplaying Ironically - Enkidu - 07-05-2016 No roleplay you say? Dude. There is a huge swathe of ingame and forum roleplayers around here. I always find good Rp every time I log ingame, every time, any time. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. RE: Roleplaying Ironically - nOmnomnOm - 07-05-2016 spazzy has always been saying there are few RPers out there and dumbing it down to a select few. Meh w.e ignore it and just continue on with your rp. Spazzy does have a point that some people could not take RP seriously, but let's not generalize. |
