House Elections for more RP? - Blodo - 12-03-2008 Well, I'm up for roleplaying a liberal member of the Reichstag:PWe already have Virus as the chancellor, so that puts the obvious question out of the way. Oh and Outcasts and Corsairs already sort of have this, except either are too barbaric to accept popular political parties, so they just have oligarchies of powerful people instead:P House Elections for more RP? - Heartless - 12-03-2008 Well for the Order we have a fleet Admiral. Currently held by Ascendancy (Adrian McKinley), but I always welcome the ideas and advice of everyone in the Order and I think I've connected with Order indies and we have a good understanding of each other. House Elections for more RP? - Blackvertigo1 - 12-03-2008 It would not be a good idea to turn RP into a political mess. We are here to have fun, not get at each other's throats with their political agendas. I'm not talking about throwing out politics or house governments, simply saying that there would be like-faction members shooting at others that also belong to the same faction because of a political argument. There would also be a lot of political correctness trash. House Elections for more RP? - Linkus - 12-03-2008 Lets see we have the President..but no vice-president currently. Odama for vice-president! Seriously though, I would quite like to have that position if it is accepting to others? Considering that the only 'power' that you wield is the respect you can earn from others, it's more of a position of responsibility than anything. House Elections for more RP? - stewcool - 12-03-2008 Well all in all I suppose it's up to the admins to decide weather or not it's implemented. As for the Nomad Space factions I think they would most likely stick to the current standing where the main player faction is the superior controller of the area. House Elections for more RP? - Xing - 12-03-2008 I personally never asked permission from whoever, and I think no one was around "zomg you cant rp the president" House Elections for more RP? - Linkus - 12-03-2008 In that case, prepare to meet the Vice-President Odama in space.. House Elections for more RP? - bluntpencil2001 - 12-03-2008 Generally, RPing heads of state is asking for trouble. Blodo's idea isn't too bad, and I imagine that Zelot will want to play a Samura/Farmer's Alliance aligned politician, and that the NLH will have their Green Front supporters. However, we have to be careful with this. I don't want skewed, fake player democracy utterly changing the Houses. For instance, I know that the NLH won't do this, but I can imagine that it is possible for a lot of players to declare Green Front allegiance and dissolve government ties to Planetform. That, being how the British parliament works, allowing for private members' bills, would suck. House Elections for more RP? - Blodo - 12-03-2008 Yeah, but in general this should only really be concerning mostly how the government works, and how the armed forces work. Of course we can have people try to pass ridiculous bills in RP, but that doesn't mean they should be passed, you can always RP it so that they weren't so that it doesn't break the game for others... House Elections for more RP? - Unseelie - 12-03-2008 I've been the Nominal Queen Carina for some time, as a hat we roll out on occasion, and I don't think I've ever used her to make another character uncomfortable. Except for that zoner. |
