RE: Das Wilde - Shelco - 08-29-2016

I think not enough players know that the infectees should basically not be easy to spot, isn't it Metagaming if a player comes right up to a D9 and knows he is infected?

RE: Das Wilde - Kauket - 08-29-2016

Most of them fly with Nomad equipment which should really let you get detected or very suspicious.

Also not to mention, most of them engage on the same ships and then the next day later, act like if they'll forget that they shot them, lol.

RE: Das Wilde - Divine - 08-29-2016

It's the initial flaw in the whole setup of the infected groups really. They show a transponder signal, that if known to you or your organization that it's infected forces, pretty much gives away their cover.
Now you've a dilemma in terms of handling it:
- ignore their IFF = breaking RP immersion
- don't ignore their IFF = breaking RP encounter

It would be best if the infected ships would use the IFF of the group they're pretending to represent.

Not speaking of the fact here that many infected ships having the respective factions ID use nomad equipment, which quite a lot of groups/organizations can put straight into place for its affiliation really.

Yeah with the nomad equipment i think if D9 is lSF infected you can just say that they have special authorisation but i agree with you in terms of IFF and so on.

RE: Das Wilde - Ramke - 08-29-2016

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to fly with nomad tech and expecting not to get blamed for it, Nyx.

It's completely brand new ships with normal names, freelancer/faction tech and a normal attitude that get the same treatment.

RE: Das Wilde - Swallow - 08-29-2016

I have had an experience playing untagged (Zoner ID/IFF) infectee.
While there were some tricky moments with indie nomads in Omicrons and some misunderstanding on what is in-lore and what is barely not... I must say that the RP wad good, even great. Just have to make sure officials recognize you.

What IFF?

The only one that the Wild factions can fly.

That's what you think, but I've seen otherwise.

And that's the issue.
You cannot expect forces that dealt on multiple occasions before with the very same or similar IFF-readings to treat the ship in question any kindly. The infected ship literally moves around with a neon-sign on its head telling everyone what it is. If I go strictly by RP, and my group/organizations knows of that transponder-signal, then the infected pilot will likely have a bad day. The other possibility is to ignore the transponder signal, but that's really hard breaking immersion.
