RE: The Soul of RP - Syf - 10-24-2016 Even I admit to having shared some traits between every character I've ever done before, or perhaps imagery of what I like one to be. But they almost always had some similar trait regardless of how I thought of them. While I have little life experience for many of the traits I do think of otherwise, some still linger in there. Heck, technically my first one was an "orphan" as well but for other reasons. It had a small reason that swayed that decision that I got from RL, definitely. Love the food for thought this thread gives though. RE: The Soul of RP - ProwlerPC - 10-24-2016 The first chat I made back when we founded S/D (later renamed BHG|). I even named the character with my own name. The female character I made when founding GMG| was based on the darker and sinister rumors of GMG but I never expected that char to develop into my main that I used for quite a long time. Aside from my first steps using an already present written foundation the char truly developed anD refined through interaction and diplomacy with other players. RE: The Soul of RP - Blackwell - 11-01-2016 Some excellent points. Of course many characters are intentionally very different, but when it's a channeling of experience, the characters can be much more interesting. And not necessarily traumatic instances either. Perhaps a channeling of fascination, or excitement. Anything really. Allowing for genuine emotion, and going off of experience can always make for interesting stories, and believable characters. |
