' Wrote:I think it's universally English with "ancient" Japanese and German phrases being slowly-forgotten remains, which sometimes form the house's specific dialect.
Way to hit the nail on the head.

' Wrote:well, seeing as how today, English is becoming a more popular language, or at least more widely used, i would assume that English would be the dominate language in the future. Though, the national languages would obviously not wither away, but would become art languages such as Latin. or secondary languages like the french speaking parts in Louisiana and Canada. or Spanish speaking parts of the western United States.

That's the logical assumption about English taking over the world. But in all reality the language used by the common trade would take over. Everything is made in China, people are learning Chinese in order to conduct business over in China. Over 2 billion people in the world speak a form of Chinese, and China is the central hub for all basic trade, due to all basic house hold items are being made there.

My bet is both English and Chinese being dominant. Chinese being the more common language (as in everyone knows it) and English being spoken by the educated populous, and by educated people I mean people that in our time are making over 250k a year. The people who have a masters or better from university.

Then of course all other languages are learned by people who wish to learn them, of course those languages are not really needed except Latin for it's naming convention and courtroom law.*
