And I say it depends on the ID you twit!
I have a RM Wraith, the tractor is green. When I'm on my Wilde Wraith (the exact same ship) the beam is a whitish color.

Every ship I have with a Junker ID, the tractor is yellow-green.
Ship type is irrelevant.

maybe its the shield type? maybe if its gravitron or positron ? but i still think its the ID, why are so many pirate tracktors purple? he outcast one is purple, and i hear a lot more are too.

Anyway. There's some potential in tractor beams to be tweaked for 4.85. It provides some info in a furball that which side just tractored in the bats and bots.

The beam can be set on any ID using the usual (255, 255, 255) RGB colors so just about any color is possible.
I too think they should be set to a certain basic logic and maybe tied to reputation in a way.
Red = Pirates/Outcasts/Corsairs
White = Civilians/Freelancers/Traders/Corporations
Green = Bounty Hunters/House Lawfulls
Black = The Order
Blue = Nomads/Keepers/Wilde
Yellow = SCRA
Purple = Admins/Special RP/Terrorist/Phantoms

Which is why BAF-P Challengers have red beams, while my BAF Chalenger has a yellow-orange beam.

Green for all lawfuls? Only Rheinlandis really green, Liberty is more blue. As for OC/Sairs having the same colour...what about when they fight each other? If you can recognise your own side's colour, it has a small bonus in fights...you can tell who got those spare bots/bats.
