EDIT: They look better in game...At least the Barghest does...Waran looks crappy no matter what...

I don't see him needing a special RP request for a mercenary BHG bomber. He's got the reasoning behind it, and it hasn't been sanctionable in the past.
Besides that, mercs are a hell of a lot like freelancers. They equip what keeps them alive. Junker weapons specifically would fit your RP very well. I wouldn't delve into Sair or Cast guns, but as long as they aren't together, I don't see anything especially wrong with that.

Yeah... even the Mark Five Barrager is garbage; 198 hull and 600 speed, not to mention an energy cost barely under Skyblasts.
Heavy Flashpoints are stronger and faster than Junker weapons, you might go there like Fist said. Shame though, since Junker ones would fit real well.
Now's when we see how far you will go to sacrifice for RP.:P

And say what you will about the Waran, it really is the sister ship to the Barghest. If you can fly a Barghie, you can fly the Waran. Leave the Taiidans and "I want special RP to fly" Catamarans to the unwashed commoners.
The big meaty bombers are for real men.
