First it was me and jack, but now it's me, Jack, and Lyth all agreeing on something... Does that mean your opinion is no so you can siege something? RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Altejago - 05-02-2018 Everytime I leave for extended times and come back, people are still complaining and arguing (Under the guise of a "discussion) about the same old thing. If I wanted re-runs, I'd watch the entire Friends discography over again for the (how many times have I seen this argument discussion) time. No POB in mining fields. Leaves the ability for the greedy to escape the whims of the needy. For those who lack the ability to decipher analogies, miners hide in base leaving pirates to do the *three word four second kills* resulting in sodium chloride being spread around the forums as a representation of my first sentence. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Hammerhead - 05-02-2018 Voted no. Should remain as it is with individual houses setting the rules. Gives a variety of activities and interplay. There are enough server rules that do the job. DiscoGC is pretty much the last Freelancer game standing and is crawling to its ultimate demise. It might take some years but it will die. There are times when in-game less than 12 players are on, rarely two in the same systems. No mining can take place unless one cheats, or uses the Hege that takes 4x the time to mine 5000k of ore. Illegal PoB's that are erected temporarily will not go away. Put a server mining station 7k's from the centre of the fields that cannot store or sell ore, so enables individual miners to drop-mine if they prefer it. Enables a greater variety of piracy actions (pick-pocket, swoop in and steal, force the running miner to pay a levy or the ore gets destroyed etc). RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Durandal - 05-02-2018 Not just yes, I want it to be 20k. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Kosa - 05-02-2018 I would allow a max. core 1 PoB in a mining field. Combined with increasing the price of deploying a fresh new base - to at least 50M $ for deploying core 1. They are now way too cheap and easy to build. Then: - The core 1 can be destroyed with the cooperation of only 2-3 people even when shielded and supplied. Unshielded ones don't stand a chance - You are still able to create them, avoiding a possible stream of abuses and reports - Even though you have the chance to do it, you won't overuse it because of high costs of plain core 1 construction What do you think? RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Karlotta - 05-02-2018 For those saying they don'T want more rules... maybe it should be pointed out that this would simply change "cant advance beyond core 2" to "cant be built", which is not an addition, but a change which arguably makes things simpler than what we have now. And even making is "cant advance beyond core 1" will not solve the drama, as was shown in Paddy's late endeavor and rage quit. Then I want 15k. But I'd take that field 20k from Eldorado too. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Kazinsal - 05-02-2018 I agree with this one. I still do think we need something of an economic rebalance still since mining commodities continue to be the number one way to make money with the next way down being one half to one third of the profit per unit, but this would be a start. |
