A ship like this has its uses, as with Seth's barge. It's primary use is as a clearinghouse to facilitate better trade RP: imagine miners collecting their various minerals and then selling them to the barge vessel for perhaps a higher price than any station nearby. Then the barge could sell to traders, who, though purchasing at a bit higher price, are still making a considerable profit selling throughout Sirius, and are simultaneously contributing to more dynamic economic RP.

The barge would have to be located at a station not actually in an asteroid field, of course, and the char would have to be played on a reasonable frequency. But as part of a faction or group operation (especially on a shared account, like an armory), I could see it being pretty useful, especially in terms of making trade more dynamic.

I could see a Daumann or Kruger Corp come up in Rheinland, with a treaty with RepEx that RepEx sells the stuff said factions mine somewhere.

or a IMG allround faction :-)

That was the whole intent as you said. Seth's barge was my presented concept--I just didn't have the skills to model at that time. I have a character that would build his entire rp around one. The only people who would use such a ship ARE the rpers--everyone else would go, "Meh?" and walk on from purchasing one.

I just like the idea of destructible cargo pods being mountable on it as an enhancement. Seth/Jinx's barge is much more "elegant" looking--this was just to show an alternate presentation with the pods.
