I expected more QQ, this way of implementation causes too little of it to amuse me. Not a single curse or caps lock line in the whole thread yet. Oh boy, you have no bloody idea how many beers I had to drink to calm down and not curse everyone as I usually do RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Kauket - 09-22-2018 unpopular opinion time, time to trigger those mlgxXxpro2008xXx people as much as i love being able to insta people with burst fire weapons, as that is my main pvp style in most games, this was much needed. It's almost like bombers were meant to bomb capitals and not devour snubs just because there's 2 of them. But hey, you still have scatterguns which are still stupidly good. Not sure if it's possible to give weapons a % damage buff instead of % nerf with this plugin but it could make things interesting. also lol at the amount of sweaty tryhards gloating about aiming a normal weapon that just has a slower refire rate aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Gladiator DW - 09-22-2018 I agree, that SNAC is too powerfull and making bombers an ultimate ship for all "High skilled" players, who exterminating all new players. And bamber class ship is making no difference in killing caps or fighters. It is really making worthless to piloting anything except bombers, all is obliged to simply super-train bombers as it is type of ship, that can destroy any ships of any class. That's the key factor here. It's already frustrating in comp games when you get cheesed, especially as a newbie. Imagine if that was the case and you can't take part in the fun for two hours. Perhaps we could go with decreasing the default death timer to 30-40 minutes and contested system to 15-20? I find it extremely annoying that I can't go trade for 2 hours if I happen to die somewhere along my route that would take at least half an hour to bypass, or worse yet, the system where the sellpoint (ore) is. The low player count these days generally leaves most of the systems empty anyways, so I really do not see a point in a 2 hour restriction. The lower cooldown is still long enough that you aren't usually jumping right back into an active fight, but not so long that you need to go find something else to do for a long time (*looks at current cap ship missions and stalks off*). That's just my tired minds suggestion. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Alex(Pineapple) - 09-22-2018 We all were a nooby once. I personally don't remember ever having a problem with getting SNACed back in my nooby days. It takes skills to kill a snub with a SNAC. I have one simple question: If there is such a big problem with snubs getting SNACed, why did it take so long for this patch to happen? Wouldn't such big problems had to be solved in the early years of discovery? RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Kyoi - 09-22-2018 While I agree with the change itself, I find the way it was implemented quite harsh. The SNAC has functioned this way as an instakill on snubs for many, many years. This was a change to a core mechanic of an entire class (granted it was too good at doing things that it shouldn't) and should have been something that was put up for discussion. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Lythrilux - 09-22-2018 It's been a controversial issue for a while, but the problem is there's never been a good way to balance it whilst keeping bombers effective against caps. Or at least a solution that can be implemented. There have been various discussion threads about it over the years. The balancemagic plugin is a fairly new thing, and is a pretty ingenious solution. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Whenawhere - 09-22-2018 I have seen a lot of changes since 4.85 and i never had any problem, I always adapted without arguing. But this just felt instantly wrong. I dont use bombers too much last few years and i definitely died more times by snac than landing them. I have never had problem with that. As for the 'noob' argument: new players struggle in general in this skill-based environment, changing one gun wont solve anything. Other than making some old folks pissed and/or ragequit. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Exe - 09-22-2018 I just found out now….. Well... what should i say… I've got a strong urge to kill the one who is responsible for this BULLSH******. Why is snac so low now? It was already underpowered before. Just because some peoples are too stupid to dodge properly on snubs we have to loose the main reason to play this game? Shame on those who let this come trough. Seriously, with this ive lost finally my desire to play. Thx for Nothing. Funny thing is, according to this logic you also should make all Mortars, Cerbs, Razors and other strong stuff weaker so that they cant harm snubs anymore. Make the most OP class in the game even more resistant against everything, i mean 3 VHFs can already wreck Gunboats and Cruisers without problems, wich is highly unlogic. I guess the devs can see now the ridiculos amount of nonsense they've released with this. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Lanakov - 09-22-2018 If SNACing helpless snubs was your "main reason to play this game", I guess you had concerns. I welcome this. Bombers spending more time trying to SNAC fighters in mixed fleet engagements was always a silly thing to me. Back in 4.85, where 3-hour long furballs were a thing, I would have complained. Now that snub combat is much faster, SNACs felt like a cheap relic. I welcome this change. We all knew changing SNAC in any way would be divisive anyway, this was a bold move. |
