If you wanna go AFK for a few seconds, dock. Not only does it reduce the chances of some random player/NPC wondering past and shooting you, but you run the gauntlet of being timed out on the base, so, if it does take too long, you will be automatically kicked, anyways...hehe

Yeh, ima ask one of my uber-programmer friends to make a program that auto-clicks on the server in the lobby, so i dont have to do it, it will grab the slot as soon as one opens, stupid noobs are invading...
lol, just blow them up if they're AFK in space, its not that hard, make up a reason.

'Just blow them up'? And what happens after that? Death screen. Which, I believe, doesn't kick you after 15 minutes. Now, you just broke the server rules but didn't solve anything. Way ta go.

@ Rudo: One problem with an AFK timer. You could be sitting at the keyboard waiting for someone to jump in from a jump gate/hole and while you're waiting you idle out. 2 minutes is just way too short. If you haven't touched a key for 5 minutes ... then you're obviously not there. But 2 minutes just goes by too quickly.

Moving along, perhaps auto-kick AFK players not docked? Like, if you haven't had any input (mouse OR keyboard) for a 15 minutes?

Doing that = asking for an IP ban. Abuse of such applications is no different from a DoS attack. Do not even suggest that.
