RE: Navarin Feedback - Black.Cat - 04-19-2020 Well, i decided to appologies for not informative and useless feedback, i guess your Tempest with name Imperator Navarin will be a very brave and honour ship. RE: Navarin Feedback - Reeves - 04-19-2020 > Offended by reference to Monarchs because muh gommunism > Tsar cannon I'm sorry, what's the problem here? This is starting to reek of inconsistency and double standards, and it isn't just the gulag anymore. RE: Navarin Feedback - Groshyr - 04-19-2020 There are some devs who decided to call Hurrican FWG Tsar just because of reasons RE: Navarin Feedback - Monsieur Baguette - 04-19-2020 (04-19-2020, 09:37 AM)Reeves Wrote: > Offended by reference to Monarchs because muh gommunism Personally I do not feel offended in any way. When "Tsar" cannon was implemented, there were talks about how funny it looks. Nobody cared to demand its renaming tho due to reasons. One of the main reason is due to the reference to: a) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Cannon - the cannon during quite old times. b) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Bomba - the bomb developed during communist USSR time. In both cases, "Tsar" was indicating "the biggest and most badass" rather than a reference to Tsar as a title. Mind, in second recent case it was a nickname, same as "Little Boy" that was thrown on Japan. We are speaking, however, of the ship naming. Ships unlike the equipment are named very-very differently and in line with the ideology/military traditions/culture of a state. The ships also do not really use nicknames. That is not that difficult to know that US ships are USS, in Spanish ships those include the word "Armada", in the UK - HMS, etc, with proper name fitting for the country. Again, just a bit of googling would have solved the issue. And people are reacting because it is being put by the OP as "serious stuff", not some lulwut indie cap. RE: Navarin Feedback - Couden - 04-19-2020 Cringe RP. RE: Navarin Feedback - LaWey - 04-19-2020 Tsar-something means just "KING SIZE". Its rather idiomatic. Edits with more serious things. Tbh, Imperator Navarin was weird mostly cos it mix of Imperator and battle-name. Also just general side note to avoid future misconceptions. While in English ship is "she", in soviet and post soviet naval tradition warship - "he". Keep in mind when use russian adjectives for Coalition warships in naming. Obviously its not a thing if you use English or Chinese patterns of naming. (this RP havent it, but, just for future) Honestly, this "class" are NATO thing, we use projects designation, that would be something like XKREV2M1.12 etc. Chinese use their type thing as well. Centralised hardware mutes and locks went in cross with our (dont know about chinese) army and design bureau mindset, would be rather trusted officers on battlestations who obliged to do it, along with system which will check life signal of attached officer, something like that. P.S. Consider it not as direct points, its rather info which i could remember right now, and which i hope could help a bit in more deep understanding of others military traditions. Ill try to RP as best as I can. I am really investing time in this RP because I for one always wanted a Tempest and having the Ability to RP with one. It was an opportunity I couldnt pass up (04-19-2020, 11:15 AM)Couden Wrote: Cringe RP. If you can elaborate what about the story you didnt like except the naming convention. RE: Navarin Feedback - Groshyr - 04-19-2020 He's just triggered by indie coalition tempest without name CPW-Vladimir.Akimnov RE: Navarin Feedback - Thunderer - 04-19-2020 The Coalition needs more Albanian names. It will be my pleasure to personally witness them explode. RE: Navarin Feedback - Kalhmera - 04-19-2020 (04-19-2020, 07:04 PM)Thunderer Wrote: The Coalition needs more Albanian names.
