Lib. Cruiser or Hugenot? - marauder - 10-24-2006

Has anyone actually tried using a cruiser like a massive fighter?

I mean by not flying in a straight line in turret mode, flying it in freeflight.

I nearly got SF gareth's (spelling?) templar, until he started lagging and was zooming around like a fly on speed.

I would suggest a lib cruiser, I have one, I've yet to take it against a player BS 1 on 1 but you don't need more then 1 inferno on it.

Thats because the forward gun does more shield damage then the inferno does, plus keeping the turrets it comes with is perfectly fine, you'll be able to fire for ages with little power drain.

The most drain would come from continually firing the missiles.

Flying the cruisers like a massive fighter seemed to only work with Liberty cruiser and Kusari Destroyer. Never checked Bretonian Dessie, and RH cruiser just has massive firepower.

And he is right, my Lib cruiser never had more than one inferno, and not even mortars or battlerazors. The forward gun is a beast (as it should be, the ship is anti-cap, not anti-fighter) and can take down an enemy BS very quickly. Two Lib cruisers working together... Well I'd feel sorry for the battleship..

BTW, you can come test it on my Juggy anytime Marauder, Omi Theta. Just look for when I'm on.

Yeah that Lib Foward Gun is nasty, I had two mounted on my Osirus last november, back when they where still Turrets, Man that was Fun, High damage, low energy, Battleships drop so fast.....ohh well

Could I mount 4 Battle Razors, 4 Infernos, and then have the forward gun? I could only get like 1 volley off before u would run out of energy.

Yes cept it only has 7 turret mounts, so you would have to have 3 of something

Verginix Out

And id have no anti-fighter armaments.

Thats fine the Liberty Cruiser was never meant to be anti fighter anyways.

Looking at how the ship is basicly built around the main cannon, Liberty oviosly had a plan in mind to make up for their Dreadnought, which is the *weakest* of the house Battleships.
