I am as pirate transport:
encountered a very profitable convoy of ships, who had guns more than I could handle. I went to make a hostage out of the weakest ship, but it did not go well, they attacked me. I made attack and in intensive battle lowered health of the hostage to almost its destruction, but not yet. I said again to surrender, and they complied with my demands, their battle transport(s) stopped trying to destroy me. I was not in good health, all nanobots were depleted, but I was able to get away with precious cargo.
I am as transport:
I remember some pirate who was talking like a total drunk badass pirate. That was cool.
but probably the most laughable experience was for me when I was flying 5k full of contraband, and array of police ships were trying to stop me, but twice I was able to talk with them enough to dock before my destruction.
and also the time when I just went with cloaked kujira to manhattan, which was guarded by Kalh's battleship with cloak disruptor right at the mooring dock ring. I was able to dock regardless, but he photoed me. I changed my nickname and undocked immediately with Liberty Ale. I think he did not realize that I was the same smuggler, I talked with him like nothing wrong happened. I had my ship totally unsuspiciously renamed to Beautiful.Facade

my positive experience with rats is when i escape from then and they start to rant over chat
calling me cheater and/or threaten me that for the next time I would not escape . one that remember is one pirate that caught me on new tokyo between the jump gate to honshu and Shinagawa Station, he was in a bomber and i with a freighter, demanded some millions, and i sad no and we started fighting and i gave a lot of fight that he got some distance, and i was going for the trade lane and he started to pursuit but when i docked i lauched one mine that disrupted the trade lane for him, and the best part was for over 5 minutes the talk on chat that was hilarious, he was really angry.
other i was in a transport and someone in a gunboat, i don't remember where .. maybe omega 49, again for some millions and i said no, and we started to fight, but during combat we crash with each other and some how he was thrown away a few Ks and i escaped .. again some threats of reporting and i replied good luck with that and remembered him that what he was doing was also against the rules, didn't said anyword after that.
also, not all people know that, but the trains, like heron and stork, have their engines on the front, so are harder to stop with cds, i escaped many times thanks to that on one heron, until once that one blood dragon cruiser stopped me, and i refused to pay, and after that started one chase over two systems for over 10 minutes, at the end i lost ... of course .. but he greeted me for the hardest kill that he ever had.
other was cool, one pirated disrupted the trade lade and wrote that stuff " well well what he have here?" and then a silence because i was with a osprey and i parked right in front of his ship, i think it was fighter, and i was like "so?" and he " have a safe voyage zoner, and he left the area. i really laught that time
and other that i remember now, i was on one gmg kujira and one outcast attacked meand when i has almost dying his game crashed, and i escaped and when he returned we had a good laugh
not all pirates encounters are cool, because most are idiots that don't want the credits or rp, that is why they ask a too much, way more that the cargo values, and just want a kill .. one easy kill most of the times. rp bad, just like " stop! X million or die! " and that's it!!

A few years back, when I flew my rogue ptrans, I came across an Interspace 5k almost entirely full of ore and with one passenger.
The 5k begged to be let go, since he had his daughter on board (the one passenger), and that she was all he had, and they'd go starving if they lost their cargo or paid any sort of piracy demand. He brought up some sob story about how their home was destroyed by pirates, and that he and his daughter lived out of their 5k from paycheck to paycheck, and how he'd lost his wife to piracy.
I listened and was so moved that I decided to be merciful.
I demanded he drop his daughter in space and that he shoot the pod in lieu of having to drop his entire cargo.
He made the easy choice almost instantly.
Interspace employees don't love the way we humans do - they're just cold, hard, money making machines.
When I encountered him again in space a few days later, he had a new daughter - but I didn't let him get off so easy.
